eNOugh Raises $2.7M to Launch AI-Powered Wearable Safety Device eNO Badge

London-based eNOugh secures $2.7M to launch the eNO badge, an AI-powered wearable that enhances personal safety through real-time threat detection and alert features

London-based startup eNOugh has successfully raised $2.7 million in a funding round led by A*Ventures, with participation from Comma Capital, Karman Ventures, Intuition VC, and various angel investors. The company is poised to launch the eNO badge, an AI-powered wearable device designed for threat detection, aiming to enhance personal safety.

The eNO badge employs advanced AI algorithms to identify when a user may be in danger. Upon detecting a potential threat, the device activates its built-in camera and microphone to record evidence, while simultaneously alerting emergency operators who can notify law enforcement or designated contacts. The device also streams live video footage along with the user’s location data.

“With the rise of multimodal AI, smart wearables, and advances in detection technology, there’s a unique opportunity to create a safer world for everyone,” remarked Kevin Hartz, General Partner at A*Ventures. “What eNOugh is building is hugely important.”

eNOugh was co-founded by Ina Jovicic, Gaelic Jara, and Alex Chalakov, the latter two of whom emphasize the necessity for a tangible solution to the escalating feelings of insecurity in society. Jovicic, reflecting on a personal experience where she was attacked by four individuals while walking in central London in October 2021, stated, “This round is fundamental in eNOugh’s journey as it will allow us to launch the product and watch it make a difference in people’s daily life.”

The founders are driven by the alarming statistics regarding personal safety; in the UK, one in two women and one in five men report feeling unsafe when walking alone after dark, with a staggering 68% of women aged 18-24 expressing similar concerns. “I’ve always believed that some problems can’t be solved through software alone. Feeling unsafe is one of them,” Jara noted. “You need something physical, visible, and reliable, and that’s what the eNO badge gives you.”

Chalakov added, “What we are doing with our AI is taking it out of the lab and bringing it into everyday life. With the eNO badge, grounded in real-world, multimodal signals, we support people in the moments that actually feel human – like when someone feels unsafe walking home at night.”

As part of its product launch strategy, eNOugh has established a waitlist for the eNO badge and is collaborating with universities, hospitals, and nightlife venues across London. This initial deployment is aimed at refining the product’s functionality before expanding to additional cities.

The intersection of technology and personal safety is becoming increasingly relevant as consumers seek more effective solutions to mitigate risks associated with urban living. The eNO badge represents a potential shift in how technology can be utilized to enhance individual security, offering users not just peace of mind but also a proactive tool designed to address real-world threats.
