One Identity has launched version 10.0 of its Identity Manager software, introducing advanced features aimed at enhancing identity governance and automating responses to identity-related security incidents. The update is designed to help organizations better manage access rights, approval processes, and compliance auditing.
The new release incorporates risk-based governance, identity threat detection and response, and AI-assisted reporting. Notably, Identity Manager 10.0 can now ingest user risk scores from third-party analytics tools and user and entity behaviour analytics systems, integrating these scores into governance workflows to bolster security measures.
In addition to governance enhancements, One Identity has introduced identity threat detection and response playbooks that automate remediation actions. These playbooks can disable accounts, flag security incidents, and initiate targeted attestation processes, where formal reviews confirm whether individuals should retain access to specific systems or data. Such features respond to the growing threat of identity-based attacks, where compromised credentials, token theft, and phishing are increasingly being employed by malicious actors.
As security vulnerabilities become more sophisticated, vendors in the identity sector are placing greater emphasis on automated containment and the integration of their products with existing security operations tools. “One Identity Manager 10.0 is a major upgrade that strengthens identity governance as a critical security component for protecting enterprise environments,” stated Praerit Garg, CEO of One Identity.
The update also features a redesigned browser-based interface for administration, allowing users to access full administrative functions without the need for a desktop installation. Furthermore, the release includes AI-assisted reporting capabilities for authorized users, employing a secure, customer-controlled large language model. This advancement allows users to query identity data in natural language, reducing reliance on SQL queries during audits and compliance assessments.
On the integration front, Identity Manager 10.0 is compatible with security information and event management (SIEM) systems, utilizing standards-based Syslog CEF formatting to enhance interoperability with security monitoring platforms. SIEM systems are crucial for organizations as they serve as a central hub for security logging, alerting, and incident response workflows, while identity governance products offer visibility into access events, account status changes, and policy breaches.
Garg emphasized the urgency of addressing identity-driven threats, noting that the new release combines a proven governance foundation with intelligence, automation, and usability that empower security teams to detect risks earlier and respond decisively. One Identity positions this update as particularly beneficial for large organizations with complex IT environments, leveraging over a decade of experience in identity governance.
Ciro Guariglia, CTO of Intragen by Nomios, remarked on the transformative aspects of the release, stating, “One Identity Manager 10.0 represents a significant change in identity governance for large-scale use. The platform improves the data model and automation engine, while bringing in a more scalable, policy-driven method for attestations. This change makes large certification campaigns easier to manage, instead of burdening administrators and the system.”
One Identity anticipates that organizations will use the new functionalities in conjunction with existing governance controls as they advance their identity programs across hybrid IT environments. The combination of automated processes and enhanced reporting capabilities aims to better equip organizations in their ongoing battle against identity-related security threats.
