KLE Society has introduced DeepGrade, an AI-powered assessment and learning analytics platform developed by Smartail, in its group of schools across Karnataka and Maharashtra. This initiative aims to enhance the educational experience for approximately 3,500 students in Grades 9 and 10 enrolled in 18 institutions. By integrating modern tools into the learning environment, KLE Society seeks to foster both teaching and learning while ensuring that educators remain central to the educational process.
The deployment of DeepGrade spans both urban and rural schools, ensuring that students from diverse social and geographic backgrounds can access advanced learning systems. This initiative illustrates how educational modernization and technological integration are reaching beyond metropolitan areas, extending the benefits of contemporary learning to grassroots levels across society.
Aslam Sherieff, Cofounder and Chief Growth Officer of Smartail, remarked, “Working with KLE Society has been a remarkable example of how a clear vision from institutional leadership can translate into meaningful classroom transformation. The commitment of the management, supported by principals, coordinators, and teachers across campuses, has enabled DeepGrade to become more than just a technology platform—it has become a tool that empowers educators with real learning insights.” This commitment underscores how institutions can enhance teaching practices and support student learning through data-informed academic interventions.
DeepGrade allows educators to efficiently evaluate descriptive answers and generate real-time insights into student performance, aiding teachers in identifying learning gaps and tracking academic progress. Already implemented in over 100 educational institutions throughout India, the platform promotes data-driven academic planning and continuous learning. Its integration within KLE schools reflects the Society’s dedication to merging technological innovation with its mission of delivering accessible, high-quality education.
Smartail, the company behind DeepGrade, is recognized as Asia’s first AI-powered grading platform. Its flagship solution is designed to facilitate large-scale evaluation of both handwritten and digital descriptive answers, thereby helping schools reduce teacher workload, mitigate evaluation bias, and generate actionable insights for timely academic interventions.
KLE Society, a distinguished charitable trust, is led by a Board of Management that upholds a legacy of service and excellence. Elected every five years through a democratic process, the board embodies principles of transparency, accountability, and collective responsibility.
This partnership between KLE Society and Smartail not only highlights the potential for technological advancements in education but also serves as a model for other institutions aiming to implement similar initiatives. As educational landscape continues to evolve, the focus on using artificial intelligence tools like DeepGrade could reshape traditional learning methodologies, making them more efficient and responsive to the needs of students and educators alike.
