PETALING JAYA, Malaysia, Nov. 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In a significant step towards enhancing educational technology and digital learning, Sunway University in Malaysia has partnered with Elitery, a leading Indonesian provider of managed cloud and security solutions. The two institutions have signed a nonmonetary, nonbinding memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at exploring potential collaborations in the realms of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital learning.

This MoU sets the stage for open dialogue between both parties, allowing them to identify and co-create initiatives that can substantially benefit educators and students alike. According to the agreement, the collaboration will focus on four key areas:

  • Educational technology innovation: The parties will investigate intelligent learning systems designed to support educators and improve student outcomes.
  • Research and innovation: They will identify joint research projects centered on emerging educational technologies, as well as discuss opportunities for global publications and showcases.
  • Capacity building: There will be an exploration of training and upskilling initiatives for students, faculty, and researchers to enhance their practical expertise in AI and digital tools.
  • Knowledge exchange: The collaboration may involve cobranded seminars, conferences, and workshops to share best practices and promote the adoption of AI-driven education in Malaysia and beyond.

Professor Malissa Maria Mahmud, Dean of the School of Education at Sunway University, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “At Sunway University, we see technology as a critical enabler for education. This MoU allows us to explore how AI can enrich teaching and learning while ensuring our educators and students acquire the skills needed for a digital economy. It gives us the flexibility to identify and co-create initiatives that genuinely benefit our learners and partners.”

Similarly, Kresna Adiprawira, President Director of Elitery, emphasized the importance of education in the company’s journey of innovation. He noted, “Education has always been at the heart of Elitery’s innovation journey. Over the years we have partnered with schools, universities, and government institutions to introduce digital solutions that make learning more accessible and impactful. Through this collaboration, we hope to explore how AI can support future-ready talent and contribute to Malaysia’s digital economy.”

As Elitery becomes the first strategic partner in advancing AI at Sunway University, the MoU stipulates that discussions will guide potential initiatives for an initial period of three years. Any specific projects or programs that arise from these discussions will be formalized under separate agreements.
