This week, CYBRET AI, an autonomous security and development lab, emerged from stealth mode, unveiling its mission to create autonomous systems capable of understanding modern attack behaviors and operating with machine speed. The company aims to enhance security measures by implementing technologies that go beyond traditional human-only operations.
Although specific financial details remain undisclosed, CYBRET AI has secured backing from several prominent Nordic investment funds, including Skyfall, Inception Fund, Visionaries Club, Wave Ventures, along with experienced operators. Founders from notable companies such as F-Secure, AMD Silo AI, and Hoxhunt also lend their expertise to the startup.
At the helm is Adrian De Gendt, the founder and CEO, who is recognized as Norway’s youngest cybersecurity analyst. De Gendt’s impressive background includes being a two-time finalist in the Norwegian Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad and the youngest student to attend both high school and university. After leaving a Master’s program in Artificial Intelligence at just 19, he has dedicated himself to hacking, programming, and cybersecurity, driven by a vision to establish a world-class team and a company with strong Nordic roots but a global outlook.
Ernesti Sario, Co-founder of FR8, remarked on De Gendt’s rare combination of technical depth and relentless drive, stating, “From our first conversations, it was clear that Adrian was onto something special. He is one of those few builders who refuse to accept the limits everyone else quietly lives with. We’re proud to be among the early believers.” This endorsement highlights the confidence investors have in De Gendt’s capabilities and vision for CYBRET AI.
Oliver Molander, General Partner at Inception Fund, views De Gendt as emblematic of a new wave of technical talent emerging from the Nordics. He commented on the growing trend of fearless founders in the region, comparing De Gendt to other innovative entrepreneurs behind successful ventures like Lovable and Legora. “We’re extremely excited to back him and equally excited about the talent the Nordics and Europe are currently producing,” he added.
The emergence of CYBRET AI comes at a time when cybersecurity challenges are becoming increasingly complex, necessitating innovative solutions that can adapt and respond in real time. By developing autonomous systems that can learn and reason about threats in real time, CYBRET AI aims to address the deficiencies of conventional security measures.
As the global cybersecurity landscape evolves, the need for agile and intelligent security solutions becomes more pressing. Startups like CYBRET AI are positioned to play a pivotal role in redefining how organizations approach their security strategies. The company’s focus on combining deep attack understanding with autonomous decision-making capabilities could set new standards in the industry.
Looking ahead, CYBRET AI could be at the forefront of a shift in the cybersecurity paradigm, as it seeks to build a portfolio of solutions that not only protect but also predict and adapt to emerging threats. As the company continues to develop and refine its technologies, it will be interesting to observe how it influences the broader cybersecurity ecosystem and whether it can establish a strong foothold in the competitive landscape.
