LG Launches AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, Redefining In-Vehicle Experiences with Generative AI

LG Electronics unveils its AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, promising a transformative in-vehicle experience powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite.

SEOUL, South Korea, Dec. 11, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Global mobility technology leader LG Electronics (LG) is set to unveil its new AI Cabin Platform at CES® 2026, scheduled for January 6-9 in Las Vegas. This innovative in-vehicle solution is designed to operate on automotive high-performance computing (HPC) systems and is powered by Qualcomm Technologies Inc.‘s Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite.

The LG AI Cabin Platform will be showcased for the first time at the LG Vehicle Solution Company’s private CES exhibit, where attendees can experience a digital cockpit featuring the platform and preview the new AI-defined vehicle (AIDV) concept. Seok-hyun Eun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company, emphasized that this development marks a significant evolution beyond the software-defined vehicle (SDV) paradigm.

“Based on our proven technology and global trust, LG will continue expanding partnerships with innovators like Qualcomm Technologies to drive future mobility beyond the SDV to the AIDV,” said Eun. “With the LG AI Cabin Platform, we are creating mobility that not only understands drivers but responds proactively to their needs and preferences, making every journey uniquely personal.”

The AI Cabin Platform integrates generative AI models, such as vision language models (VLMs), large language models (LLMs), and image generation models, into LG’s in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system. This integration heralds a new era of intelligent, context-aware driving experiences.

Utilizing the high-performance computing capabilities of the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite, all AI calculations occur on-device, eliminating reliance on external servers. This approach allows for real-time, stable operation while enhancing privacy and security by mitigating cloud-related vulnerabilities.

The platform is designed to analyze both the driving environment and the driver’s condition by utilizing data from internal and external vehicle cameras. For instance, should a nearby vehicle begin to merge and the system detects that the driver is unaware, the platform can provide a tailored alert: “A car is merging ahead. Please keep your eyes on the road and drive safely.”

Additionally, the LG AI Cabin Platform can generate customized infotainment user interfaces that adapt to external conditions. For example, if the driver enjoys music on a snowy evening, the system may create a fitting background for the music playback screen, such as snow falling between streetlights, and offer context-aware suggestions like, “It’s a beautiful snowy night. Shall I recommend some winter-themed songs?”

Earlier this year at CES 2025, LG and Qualcomm highlighted their collaboration by introducing the HPC platform, which integrates IVI and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) into a single control unit. Based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Ride™ Flex System-on-Chip (SoC), the platform has been recognized for achieving both cost efficiency and superior performance through the consolidation of various vehicle functions into one control unit.

The LG Vehicle Solution Company is committed to delivering human-centered innovations to the automotive sector. The company offers intelligent solutions, including head units, displays, connectivity, and ADAS vision systems, tailored for both software-defined vehicles and the forthcoming AI-defined vehicles. This commitment is encapsulated in their mission statement, “Driving Better Future Mobility,” as the company continues to diversify its portfolio to enhance capabilities in areas such as automotive lighting systems, e-powertrain, and cybersecurity.

As LG prepares to debut its AI-driven technology at CES 2026, the automotive industry is keenly observing the advancements in AI integration into vehicle systems. The potential for enhanced driving experiences and increased safety measures could significantly reshape consumer expectations in the mobility landscape.
