Singapore, April 2026: The convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing is reshaping Asia’s technological landscape, with investments projected to reach US$78 billion by 2026. This surge in AI spending signals a pivotal moment for enterprises and governments across the region to embrace AI in critical economic sectors, including healthcare and public services. As the world’s largest tech and AI events network, GITEX AI ASIA is set to convene over 550 enterprises and startups, 250 global investors managing US$350 billion in assets, and 175-plus speakers at Marina Bay Sands on April 9-10, 2026, reinforcing Singapore’s role as a vital link between Asia’s innovation ecosystems and global markets.
Asia is home to the world’s largest data center clusters, with Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia expected to account for 40% of global data capacity by 2030. This infrastructure is crucial for the development of next-generation AI technologies. Singapore has established itself as a leading computing hub, producing approximately 15% of the world’s semiconductors and hosting advanced AI research centers. The establishment of a new quantum research and development center in March 2026 underscores the nation’s commitment to accelerating industrial applications of quantum computing.
GITEX AI ASIA will feature influential figures in the tech industry, including Kotaro Tamura, former Japanese Senator and Vice Minister for Fiscal & Economic Policy, who will discuss strategies for consolidating AI leadership in a fragmented global landscape. Ken Lin, CEO and Co-Founder of Aires Applied Quantum Technologies, will address the balance between rapid commercial deployment and the long-term requirements of governance and trust in AI technologies. Lin highlighted the significance of the event, stating, “We have built proprietary deep tech in quantum that reaffirms Singapore’s burgeoning base of intellectual property (IP). GITEX AI ASIA is perfectly positioned to showcase the depth and maturity of this ecosystem to the world.”
On the exhibition floor, Gorilla Technology, a global provider of security and business intelligence solutions, will showcase architectures essential for creating data-driven urban environments. CEO Jay Chandan remarked on the importance of integrating intelligent infrastructures and security frameworks to foster scalable digital growth. “Global collaboration platforms like GITEX AI ASIA are pivotal in enabling this scalability,” he noted. Joining the ranks is Ericsson, which will emphasize its advancements in AI, 5G, and cloud solutions. Yasin Khan, CTO of Mission Critical Networks & Enterprise at Ericsson, expressed that GITEX AI ASIA uniquely brings together diverse stakeholders, facilitating meaningful partnerships that can enhance connectivity in the AI era.
The event will also highlight the growing global interest in Asia’s deep-tech ecosystem, with country pavilions from Belgium, Canada, and the Philippines making their debut. Participants from Australia, China, Germany, India, and several other nations will showcase their innovations, reflecting the competitive and collaborative nature of the global technology landscape. The GITEX AI ASIA investor program, which includes venture capital firms and corporate investors, is actively targeting opportunities in Asia’s rapidly expanding economies.
Among the participating investors is QAI Ventures, based in Switzerland, which is eager to tap into Asia’s burgeoning AI and quantum ecosystem. Founder Alexandra Beckstein noted, “Singapore’s Quantum and AI ecosystem is gaining serious momentum, fueled by a forward-thinking government, top research, and a vast IP pool.” She announced that QAI Ventures aims to enhance its involvement in the Asia-Pacific region by focusing on facilitating the growth of scalable startups.
In addition to the discussions and panel sessions, GITEX AI ASIA will host North Star Asia, the regional edition of the world’s largest startup showcase, featuring over 300 startups from more than 50 countries. Innovations on display will include UK-based Literal Labs’ energy-efficient AI architecture and China’s Timekettle’s bone-induction interpreter earbuds for real-time multilingual translation. Japan’s Lifescapes will present its non-invasive brain-computer interface for stroke rehabilitation, while Ashirase, backed by Honda, will showcase a shoe-mounted navigation system designed to assist visually impaired users.
