Global Leaders, CEOs Confirm for India AI Impact Summit 2026 to Drive AI Democratisation

Prominent tech leaders, including Bill Gates and Demis Hassabis, will unite at the India AI Impact Summit 2026 to drive global AI democratization and inclusion.

Prominent technology leaders are set to gather for the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where discussions will focus on the democratization of artificial intelligence (AI) and its implications for global development. Confirmed participants include influential figures such as Bill Gates, Demis Hassabis (CEO of Google DeepMind), Dario Amodei (CEO of Anthropic), Shantanu Narayen (CEO of Adobe), and Marc Benioff (CEO of Salesforce), among others. The summit, which will take place in India, aims to foster collaboration and establish a consensus on key AI-related issues.

According to IT Secretary S Krishnan, one of the primary objectives of the summit is to garner support for a consensus declaration that will address significant questions surrounding AI. “The idea is to enable building of some sort of consensus on key questions around AI,” Krishnan stated, emphasizing the importance of alignment among global leaders.

This year’s summit marks a shift from the focus on AI safety, which characterized the inaugural AI Summit, to a more expansive view on the positive impacts of AI technology. Krishnan highlighted the goal of supporting an “inclusion agenda” to democratize access to AI resources, ensuring that the benefits of AI extend beyond affluent nations. “These would be key elements that we expect in the leaders’ declaration,” he added.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 aspires to facilitate the global democratization of AI and bridge the existing AI divide. It aims to support the development of indigenous solutions tailored to local needs while promoting “AI for Good” initiatives in sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, and governance. A critical focus will also be on aligning global standards and models of AI governance with the specific requirements of developing nations.

To achieve these ambitious objectives, the summit has convened seven working groups. These groups will deliver outcomes aimed at illustrating AI’s impact across three main areas: people, planet, and progress. Their focus areas include economic growth and social good, inclusion for social empowerment, safe and trusted AI practices, human capital development, scientific research, and enhancing resilience through innovation and efficiency.

The summit builds on the momentum created by previous international gatherings such as the Bletchley Park, Seoul, Paris, and Kigali summits. It seeks to further the discussions initiated at these events, paving the way for actionable strategies in the AI sector.

In addition to the confirmed technology leaders, other notable figures like French President Emmanuel Macron and Brazilian President Lula da Silva are expected to attend, alongside other industry giants such as Jensen Huang (CEO of Nvidia), Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI), and Lip-Bu Tan (CEO of Intel). Krishnan expressed optimism regarding participation, noting that over 50 CEOs and founders have already confirmed their attendance, with more expected to join after the holiday season. The summit anticipates representation from more than 100 countries.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026 represents a significant step forward in the global conversation around AI, emphasizing collaboration, inclusion, and innovation as critical components in harnessing technology for societal advancement. As the event approaches, it is poised to shape the future landscape of AI governance and its role in addressing global challenges.
