Yotta Data Services has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) to create an AI-enabled education delivery model aimed at transforming India’s higher education landscape. This collaboration was formalized during the National Conclave on AI Evolution, aptly titled “The Mahakumbh of AI,” which was attended by Indian Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan and senior policymakers. The event was organized under the auspices of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) alongside GGSIPU.
As per the agreement, Yotta will provide essential cloud infrastructure, servers, and platforms to support over 350 AI-enabled courses, catering to more than 200,000 students enrolled at 125 affiliated colleges of GGSIPU. Notably, this initiative will be offered at no cost to students, positioning GGSIPU as the first university in India to implement such a wide-scale AI automation framework.
The partnership is expected to unfold over a three-year period, during which GGSIPU plans to establish a dedicated AI Learning Lab. The initiative will introduce interactive, AI-powered courses across various departments and devise a scalable educational model that could serve as a blueprint for other universities in India.
Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood emphasized that the AI framework could significantly enhance public education delivery. He noted that the model addresses existing enrollment challenges, offering a practical pathway for higher education expansion, particularly in distance education and lifelong learning.
Sunil Gupta, Co-founder and CEO of Yotta Data Services, stated, “We are out to make learning more personalized and impactful while helping universities operate more efficiently. With AI automation, the traditional limits on how many students a professor can teach no longer apply.” The AI framework is designed to assist educators with real-time insights on attendance, participation, and performance, thereby reducing administrative burdens and allowing faculty to prioritize mentoring and student engagement. Institutions may also experience lower operational costs as digital delivery becomes increasingly efficient.
GGSIPU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mahesh Verma remarked that the AI platform would serve as a gateway for learners across institutions, fostering the creation of a shared teaching-learning repository accessible to universities nationwide. The collaborative effort not only aims to elevate educational standards but also to create a more integrated academic community.
AICTE Chairman Prof. T.G. Sitharam welcomed the initiative, highlighting its long-term implications. Quoting Neil Armstrong, he said, “This is a small step for man but a giant leap for mankind,” underscoring the significance of integrating AI into education.
Yotta is committed to ensuring compliance with national standards concerning cybersecurity and data privacy throughout the project. The initiative is anticipated to be showcased at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where the role of responsible AI in expanding educational opportunities will be highlighted. This collaboration not only signals a leap forward for GGSIPU but also sets a precedent for other educational institutions in India to harness the power of AI in their teaching methodologies.
