SAN FRANCISCO – Datadog Inc. on Monday announced the general availability of its Bits AI Security Analyst, a move aimed at revolutionizing how security teams navigate the escalating wave of digital threats. Integrated directly into Datadog’s Cloud SIEM (Security Information and Event Management), this new AI agent is designed to alleviate a critical bottleneck in the Security Operations Center (SOC). By autonomously investigating alerts, Bits AI can reportedly condense complex investigations that typically require human analysts hours to complete into as little as 30 seconds.
Modern security teams face a challenging landscape, caught between a global talent shortage and the increasing prevalence of AI-driven attacks. According to Datadog, the sheer volume of data makes it nearly impossible for teams to manually triage every threat. “Traditional SIEMs are leaving enterprises increasingly exposed because queues keep growing and investigations take longer to correlate,” noted Tim Knudsen, vice president of security products at Datadog. He emphasized that Bits AI leverages observability signals to provide “fully explained verdicts,” allowing human teams to focus on high-impact defense rather than manual data sorting.
Datadog asserts that Bits AI operates as an “always-on senior SOC analyst,” delivering several operational advantages. These include rapid resolution that reduces the mean-time-to-resolution (MTTR) by more than 90%, unified visibility that aggregates data from various clouds, identities, and endpoint detection and response (EDR) systems, and enterprise scaling, which includes built-in security controls like Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure the AI functions within corporate governance frameworks.
The launch of Bits AI at RSAC 2026 marks a significant shift toward autonomous security operations. As AI-driven attacks grow more sophisticated, Yanbing Li, Chief Product Officer at Datadog, highlighted that “intelligent, autonomous systems” are becoming essential for Fortune 500 companies. This reflects a broader trend in the cybersecurity industry, where reliance on human analysts is increasingly supplemented by automated technologies designed to address urgent and complex threats.
By automating routine investigative tasks, Bits AI not only increases efficiency but also allows human analysts to concentrate on more strategic aspects of security management. This shift is crucial as organizations continue to grapple with the overwhelming volume of security alerts that can overwhelm even the most proficient teams. The incorporation of AI into security processes is not just a technological enhancement; it is becoming a necessity to maintain robust defenses against evolving cyber threats.
Bits AI Security Analyst is now available to all Datadog customers, marking an important step in the company’s efforts to equip organizations with the tools necessary to combat a rapidly changing threat landscape. As the demand for effective security solutions grows, the integration of AI in security operations could redefine how enterprises approach their cyber defense strategies in the coming years.
