Education Ministers from 20 Nations to Draft AI Strategies at Turkiye Summit in June 2026

Ministers of Education from 20 countries will converge at Turkiye’s TETZ 2026 to draft groundbreaking AI integration strategies for 500 million learners.

ISTANBUL, Turkiye – A significant gathering is set to take place as Ministers of Education from 20 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East convene for the 7th Turkiye Educational Technologies Summit & Expo (TETZ 2026). Scheduled for June 26-28, 2026, the summit aims to reinvigorate the global dialogue on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into education while emphasizing the importance of human critical-thinking skills.

The three-day event, announced by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, will serve as a platform for collaboration among policymakers, educators, and industry leaders. Participants will discuss essential strategies for incorporating AI into educational frameworks. Key topics will include the appropriate level of AI integration within curricula, methods for embedding AI into current education models, and the establishment of policies for remote and hybrid learning environments.

As Turkiye seeks to position itself as a leader in future-proofing educational systems, the summit will underscore the necessity of developing human critical-thinking abilities alongside technological advancements. Mustafa Canlı, Director General for Innovation and Educational Technologies at the Ministry of National Education, articulated this vision, stating, “We position AI not as a tool of competition, but as an instrument of cognitive partnership.” He emphasized that the era of AI necessitates a fundamental transformation in educational approaches.

This summit is viewed as pivotal for fostering international collaboration in a region that boasts a combined learning population of 500 million. Turkiye plans to unveil its strategic framework aimed at placing AI at the heart of its national education policies. This initiative is designed to cultivate resilient educational ecosystems built on personalized and data-driven learning experiences.

With a robust existing EdTech infrastructure, Turkiye already supports 18 million students and nearly 1.2 million teachers across 650,000 classrooms equipped with digital resources. The summit is expected to showcase the nation’s vision to government officials, technology firms, investors, and venture-capital networks on a global scale.

The exhibition aspect of the event aims to disseminate Turkiye’s innovative educational strategies while inviting dialogue on best practices in AI integration within education systems worldwide. The summit reflects a growing awareness among nations regarding the transformative potential of AI in reshaping educational landscapes.

As discussions unfold, stakeholders will explore how AI can complement traditional teaching methods, ensuring that educational philosophies evolve in tandem with advancements in technology. The emphasis on maintaining human critical-thinking skills amid increasing reliance on AI underscores a cautious yet progressive stance towards integrating technology in education.

The TETZ 2026 is anticipated not only to address immediate educational needs but also to set a precedent for future collaborations in the education sector driven by technological innovations. By engaging diverse international perspectives, the summit seeks to cultivate a comprehensive understanding of the role AI can play in enhancing educational outcomes while preserving the essential qualities of human thought.
