Durabook Launches Z14I-HG: First Rugged Mobile Workstation with 682 TOPS AI Performance

Durabook launches the Z14I-HG rugged mobile workstation, delivering 682 TOPS of AI performance and advanced graphics for demanding environments.

TAIPEI, March 26, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Durabook, a rugged mobile solutions brand under Twinhead International Corporation, has unveiled its latest innovation, the Z14I-HG fully rugged mobile workstation. The device is designed to meet the increasing demands for advanced AI, simulation, and data processing in extreme environments. Equipped with Intel® Core™ Ultra processors featuring integrated AI Boost NPU and NVIDIA® RTX™ Ada Generation GPUs, the Z14I-HG offers up to 682 TOPS of AI performance and workstation-class graphics acceleration, allowing for complex workloads such as real-time 3D rendering and AI inference directly at the edge, without depending on cloud infrastructure.

The Z14I-HG is engineered for environments where standard laptops fail to perform reliably. Its rugged design makes it suitable for various applications, including defense operations, industrial automation, field engineering, AI-powered inspection, and geospatial analysis. The integration of NVIDIA® Ada Lovelace architecture with 4th-generation Tensor Cores enhances its capabilities, enabling organizations to implement applications such as computer vision and predictive maintenance analytics. Running AI applications locally not only improves response times but also enhances data security and operational reliability in areas with limited connectivity.

In terms of graphics performance, the Z14I-HG features NVIDIA® RTX™ 3500 or optional RTX™ 5000 GPUs, boasting up to 9,728 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR6 memory with ECC (Error-Correcting Code). This configuration provides over three times the performance of the current rugged GPU solutions available in the market, enabling advanced functionalities such as digital twin modeling and GIS visualization. The device supports extensive display connectivity, including up to four NVIDIA-driven HDMI 2.1 outputs, allowing for complex multi-screen setups. Unlike many competing rugged systems, the Z14I-HG also enables full GPU-driven display output.

Designed to withstand extreme conditions, the Z14I-HG is certified to MIL-STD-810H for shock, vibration, and temperature resistance, as well as MIL-STD-461G for electromagnetic compatibility in high-interference environments. The workstation has an IP66 rating, which protects against dust and water jets, and can operate in temperatures ranging from -29°C (-20°F) to 63°C (145°F). Its 14-inch FHD DynaVue® display features a brightness of 1200 nits, ensuring visibility in bright outdoor conditions. The display is high-contrast and sunlight-readable, with multiple input modes to facilitate usability in harsh weather.

The workstation also incorporates a flexible storage architecture with dual removable NVMe PCIe SSD drives. This design allows for quick, tool-free storage swaps, enhancing data security and operational continuity. Additionally, the Z14I-HG includes a modular media bay that can accommodate various components, such as an optical disk drive or an additional battery, catering to diverse operational requirements. Enhanced security features, including TPM 2.0, Intel® vPro™, and Windows 11 Secured-core PC, ensure that customers’ security needs are met in today’s evolving mobile work environment.

Fred Kao, CEO of Twinhead, emphasized the significance of the new workstation, stating, “By launching the Z14I-HG rugged mobile workstation, we are showcasing our commitment to providing our customers with the cutting-edge tech they need to stay connected and in control.” He highlighted that the Z14I-HG is tailored for professionals involved in defense operations, geospatial applications, AI-powered surveillance, and smart manufacturing, among others.

The Durabook Z14I-HG is now available for purchase. For further specifications and details, interested parties can visit Durabook’s official product page.
