The Teaching, Learning, and Technology Center (TLTC) recently hosted a virtual workshop titled “AI Magic with Adobe Premiere Pro” on October 8, aimed at faculty, staff, and students. This session focused on demonstrating how generative AI tools can enhance design and video workflows, showcasing the practical applications of AI in digital storytelling.
Guided by Jorge Rivera, a digital media specialist and alumnus of Seton Hall University’s College of Human Development, Culture, and Media, the workshop highlighted an accessible cross-application workflow, scalable from basic class assignments to more advanced digital narratives. Participants learned techniques to expand close-up images into broader scenes using Photoshop’s Generative Expand and Generative Fill, followed by integrating these enhanced visuals into Adobe Premiere Pro for video content refinement.
During the workshop, Rivera also discussed the strengths and limitations of the generative AI tools, encouraging attendees to think creatively about transitioning between design and editing applications. The session emphasized that these AI tools can not only complement traditional editing in Adobe Premiere Pro but also inspire innovative storytelling methodologies.

Howell noted that the content of TLTC workshops is already exceptional, and Rivera’s innovative methods yielded a polished presentation that reflects the quality of the material being delivered.
This workshop is part of a broader initiative by TLTC to equip the Seton Hall community with technology-forward skills. Attendees are encouraged to explore upcoming sessions at shu.edu/ITevents. For those interested in enhancing their own presentations or collaborating on video projects with similar production quality, Howell invites contact via email at [email protected].
The integration of AI tools in creative workflows not only signifies a shift toward more efficient processes but also represents a broader trend in academia and industry, where technology is increasingly utilized to foster creativity and innovation. These developments are crucial as professionals seek to navigate an evolving landscape marked by rapid technological advancements.
