Announced recently, these capabilities are designed to enhance security at the foundational level of devices, improve threat detection in complex environments, and accelerate recovery during cyber incidents, addressing the increasing risks that enterprises face from sophisticated attacks aimed at high-value data and distributed IT ecosystems.
In light of the vulnerabilities introduced by quantum computing, Dell is implementing quantum-ready protections within its commercial PCs. The company is enhancing firmware-level security, including new embedded controller safeguards that authenticate updates utilizing advanced cryptographic signatures resilient against future quantum-enabled attacks. An upgraded BIOS verification feature further bolsters security by checking system integrity against a trusted cloud-based reference, facilitating early detection of tampering and reducing supply chain risks. Dell’s advancements are not limited to prevention; they also enhance recovery capabilities. The company has fortified its PowerProtect portfolio, introducing features designed to bolster cyber resilience and minimize the impact of attacks. Recognizing the importance of AI workloads, Dell is expanding its Managed Detection and Response services to cover environments where unstructured data resides. This extension includes integration with platforms like PowerScale, enhancing visibility into potential threats targeting AI data storage systems. The service, supported by expert cybersecurity teams, enables early detection and automated responses to suspicious activities, thereby fortifying organizational defenses.
Moreover, Dell has introduced a new Endpoint Detection and Response-only option, which provides advanced monitoring, investigation, and response capabilities. When combined with Dell PCs, this solution delivers deeper insights into system integrity, including alerts at the BIOS level, enhancing incident response speed and elevating protection across endpoints.
