Numos Secures $4.25M Seed Funding to Enhance AI-Driven Financial Operations

Numos, an emerging player in the AI finance technology sector, has announced the completion of a $4.25 million seed funding round led by General Catalyst, with additional contributions from Operator Collective. The capital will be utilized to expand its AI platform designed specifically for enterprise finance teams, which integrates seamlessly with existing financial systems to automate and enhance data analysis across fragmented sources.

The platform aims to provide transparent and auditable AI solutions, facilitating rapid workflows for finance teams engaged in reconciliations, reporting, and financial close processes. With the increasing adoption of AI in the enterprise sector, Numos is positioning itself as a reliable solution for finance departments striving for improved accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

According to a recent forecast by Gartner, the use of embedded AI solutions is projected to accelerate financial close processes by as much as 30% by 2028. However, many CFOs remain hesitant to fully embrace these technologies, often citing concerns around data quality, integration complexities, and the opacity of black-box AI systems that lack transparency. Consequently, finance teams frequently resort to time-consuming manual efforts to synthesize information from disparate systems.

Numos addresses these challenges through its AI platform, which not only consolidates business context typically scattered across various tools but also highlights the underlying factors contributing to financial changes. This approach aids in strategic decision-making while ensuring transparency at every stage—from variance analysis to reconciliations and quote-to-cash automations. Clients have reported up to an 80% reduction in the time required for financial planning and analysis reporting cycles, with some closing their books in less than half the typical timeframe.

“AI has enormous potential in finance, but adoption will only happen if teams can understand and verify the outputs,” said Parijat Sarkar, CEO and co-founder of Numos. He emphasized that finance teams are not merely analyzing numbers; they bear accountability for them. “Numos enables the work while keeping every step transparent and auditable,” he added.

Mitul Tiwari, CTO and co-founder of Numos, elaborated on the platform’s capabilities, stating, “The future of finance isn’t one AI tool, it’s a team of AI agents working alongside your finance team.” He noted that Numos orchestrates specialized agents designed to comprehend financial contexts, automate repetitive tasks, and continuously evaluate their outputs. This coordination transforms fragmented processes into reliable, scalable automated workflows.

Numos is rapidly gaining traction among enterprise clients, including both established private companies like Dandy and publicly traded firms such as Udemy. This growth reflects a strong demand from finance teams seeking trustworthy AI solutions tailored to their needs.

Kelly Templeton, Director of Finance at Udemy, remarked on the benefits of Numos, stating, “Numos bridges the gap between siloed financial data and actionable insights within our complex operating environment. Having AI that works within our established systems to surface key drivers has empowered our team to make faster, more confident decisions during our close cycles.”

Yuri Sagalov, Managing Director at General Catalyst, also expressed confidence in the company’s leadership. He noted, “Parijat and Mitul bring firsthand experience building in and alongside the office of the CFO, giving them a deep understanding of how demanding and nuanced finance workflows truly are. We love backing technical founders tackling complex, underserved problems, and Numos is purpose-built to deliver trusted, measurable results for finance teams.”

Founded by Parijat Sarkar and Mitul Tiwari, Numos is led by experts with extensive backgrounds in finance, data, and enterprise AI. Sarkar previously served as a senior vice president at Zenefits, overseeing product, growth, and engineering. Tiwari holds a PhD from the University of Texas at Austin and has spent the past decade developing large-scale AI systems at LinkedIn and ServiceNow.

The company’s advisory board features industry veterans such as Sue Taylor, former Chief Accounting Officer of Meta, and Kieran Snyder, VP of AI Transformation at Microsoft. The recent funding will be allocated towards accelerating product development and expanding the engineering team, signaling Numos’ commitment to advancing its innovative AI solutions for finance teams.

Numos aims to redefine the landscape of financial operations by providing tools that offer full transparency and auditability, thereby enabling finance teams to focus on strategic decision-making rather than manual data assembly. As the company matures, it stands poised to play a crucial role in the evolving intersection of finance and artificial intelligence.
