Tech Mahindra Launches i.GreenFinance Platform to Streamline Green Loan Compliance

Tech Mahindra launches i.GreenFinance, an AI-driven platform for global financial institutions to streamline compliance for sustainability-linked loans and enhance transparency.

Tech Mahindra has unveiled i.GreenFinance, a cutting-edge platform aimed at assisting financial institutions globally in managing the lifecycle of green and sustainability-linked loans through artificial intelligence and Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud technology. This initiative is part of a growing trend in the finance sector to address climate change and sustainability challenges.

Designed to facilitate banks, investors, and other entities in the financial sector, i.GreenFinance aims to streamline the offering of sustainable lending products that adhere to stringent regulatory requirements across various jurisdictions. The platform integrates significant ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) data management capabilities and automates the processes related to sustainability assessments and reporting tasks.

The system enhances transparency by linking loan disbursements to confirmed sustainability milestones and documentary proof while offering real-time monitoring. Financial institutions can customize their business rules across more than 15 industry sectors, a feature intended to help them tailor the platform to their unique operational processes.

Addressing the existing regulatory challenges, Sandeep Chandna, Chief Sustainability Officer at Tech Mahindra, highlighted the complications currently faced in green lending. “The growth of green and sustainability-linked loans remains constrained by inconsistent ESG data, differing regulatory frameworks, and a lack of standardized evaluation models across global markets. Built on AWS’s strengths and capabilities, i.GreenFinance will address these challenges through a unified, transparent, and intelligent platform that automates complex assessments, streamlines data aggregation, and delivers verifiable sustainability reporting. This will thereby empower institutions to confidently scale their green lending portfolios while meeting evolving climate regulations,” Chandna stated.

The collaboration with AWS has enabled i.GreenFinance to leverage advanced analytics and generative AI, along with a secure and scalable cloud infrastructure. Tech Mahindra asserts that this foundation supports enterprise-grade deployment and adheres to global governance standards. Satinder Pal Singh, Director of Solution Architecture at AWS India and South Asia, remarked on the technological framework established through this partnership. “We have collaborated with Tech Mahindra through our Generative AI Innovation Centre to build i.GreenFinance. By leveraging AWS’s Generative AI capabilities, along with AWS’s advanced analytics solutions, i.GreenFinance empowers financial institutions to make data-driven lending decisions aligned with ESG criteria. Our collaboration with Tech Mahindra demonstrates how cloud technology can drive meaningful innovation in the financial sector, enabling institutions to meet their sustainability goals while delivering enhanced value to their customers,” Singh explained.

The platform automates the collection and evaluation of sustainability-linked data, producing audit-ready reports for each loan disbursement, thereby simplifying the reporting obligations as more jurisdictions consider expanding requirements for traceable, transparent, and measurable green finance disclosures.

Positioned for global adoption, i.GreenFinance is designed for financial institutions operating in both advanced economies with robust climate regulations and emerging markets where green lending initiatives are gaining traction. The platform is engineered for regular updates to accommodate the evolving ESG frameworks and the introduction of new reporting standards. As the urgency to address climate challenges intensifies, solutions like i.GreenFinance are likely to play a crucial role in reshaping the financial landscape, offering a pathway for institutions to confidently engage in sustainable practices while fulfilling their regulatory commitments.
