Zetrix AI Berhad, in collaboration with INCEIF University and its research arm ISRA Institute, is poised to launch a groundbreaking initiative to develop AI-powered Islamic Finance research agents using the NurAI framework. This strategic partnership aims to transform how both users and faculty access, analyze, and synthesize academic literature in Islamic finance while providing streamlined access to Shariah-compliant information, as noted in a joint statement released by the organizations.
The Islamic Finance AI Agents will be trained on INCEIF University’s extensive academic and research ecosystem, which was established by Bank Negara Malaysia to foster human capital and knowledge leadership in the global Islamic finance sector. The AI Agents are designed for diverse users, including students, researchers, industry professionals, and policymakers, enabling them to interact with complex Islamic finance topics through natural language queries. This innovative approach will facilitate the generation of structured literature reviews, comparison of methodologies, and identification of emerging research gaps, all grounded in credible Shariah-validated sources.
Moreover, the AI system will integrate seamlessly with INCEIF University’s approved research databases, allowing for secure document uploads and user annotations. The AI Agents will adapt to various academic levels, thereby ensuring academic integrity, transparency, and data privacy throughout the research process.
This initiative aligns with Malaysia’s broader objective to promote innovation within Islamic finance and responsible digital adoption, particularly under the guidance of Bank Negara Malaysia. The collaboration leverages INCEIF University’s institutional knowledge with Zetrix AI’s NurAI framework, which is touted as the world’s first Shariah-aligned Large Language Model, to deliver reliable insights on both foundational principles and contemporary topics within Islamic finance.
Unlike traditional AI tools, the Islamic Finance AI Agents will draw exclusively from INCEIF University’s well-established body of scholarly and industry resources, which encompasses textbooks, academic journals, research papers, fatwas, and industry reports accumulated over many years. Users will receive responses that are not only precise but also rooted in credible Shariah-compliant sources, enhancing the overall integrity of the information provided.
The AI Agents will be embedded within INCEIF University’s I-FIKR platform, accessible through a dedicated channel on both the NurAI mobile and web applications. A free tier will allow users to ask up to 20 questions every six hours, while a subscription-based premium tier will provide access to extended research sessions linked to I-FIKR and NurAI paid services.
To ensure the ongoing alignment of the AI Agents with ethical Shariah standards, Zetrix AI and INCEIF University are establishing a joint oversight committee. This committee will engage with relevant authorities, including the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia, to reinforce transparency, compliance, and public trust in the initiative.
Fadzli Shah, co-founder of Zetrix, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, “By integrating INCEIF University’s academic resources with our NurAI framework, we are providing a solution that preserves the integrity of Islamic principles while leveraging the speed of modern technology. This demonstrates how Shariah-aligned AI can serve the evolving needs of the global Ummah.” Meanwhile, Dr. Marjan Muhammad, deputy president of research at ISRA Institute, highlighted that “the integration of the cutting-edge NurAI framework is set to transform user experience through personalized search, smart content organization, and customized recommendations.”
This initiative not only aims to enhance user experience but also supports Malaysia’s ambition to position itself as a global hub for Islamic finance and digital innovation. As technology converges with values-based finance, the development of Shariah-aligned AI has the potential to reshape the landscape of Islamic finance education and research.
