Acer has made a significant impact at the closing event of CES 2026 with a series of product announcements aimed at enhancing its foothold in two rapidly expanding sectors: gaming and artificial intelligence. The company introduced a state-of-the-art 27-inch gaming monitor and a lineup of AI-optimized laptops, prompting questions among investors about the potential for these initiatives to lessen the firm’s historical dependence on its traditional PC business. Early trading activity indicates a keen interest in Acer’s new direction.
The timing of these product launches is critical, coinciding with a strategic realignment within the company. Acer reported a consolidated revenue of NT$24.60 billion (approximately USD 780 million) for November, reflecting an 8.1% year-over-year increase. Notably, revenue from its gaming division surged by 22.0% during the same period, underscoring the growing significance of this segment to the company’s financial health.
A shift in revenue composition is underway, with non-PC and display-related businesses contributing 33.6% of total revenue in the third quarter of 2025, up from roughly 28% in 2024. This category encompasses a variety of products, including the recently launched Predator ES Storm Pro E-Scooter, a 1,200-watt peak-performance vehicle designed for urban mobility and integrated with the Acer eMobility app.
Despite the positive indicators, analysts and company executives have cautioned about near-term challenges. Rising prices for key components, particularly RAM and GPU parts, are anticipated to present headwinds in the latter half of 2026. Although the current product lineup bolsters Acer’s earnings foundation, these cost pressures may not be fully mitigated in the short term.
The centerpiece of Acer’s gaming hardware initiative is the Predator XB273U F6 display, a 27-inch monitor that utilizes Dynamic Frequency and Resolution (DFR) technology to achieve an impressive refresh rate of up to 1000 Hz at 720p resolution and 500 Hz in its native 1440p mode. Priced at USD 799.99, it is set for market release in the second quarter of 2026.
In tandem, Acer unveiled the 2026 Swift AI laptop series, which includes the Swift 16 AI, Swift Edge AI, and Swift Go AI models. These laptops are powered by Intel’s upcoming Core Ultra Series 3 platform, featuring a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of performing up to 50 trillion operations per second. The flagship Swift 16 AI model comes equipped with an Intel Core Ultra X9 388H processor and Intel Arc B390 graphics, strategically positioning it in the emerging “Copilot+ PC” category.
Acer’s operational focus has shifted under new leadership structures in its Pan-American Operations, effective January 1, 2026, prioritizing supply chain execution and cost control. The upcoming audited full-year 2025 results and the Q4 report, scheduled for release on March 11, 2026, will be pivotal in assessing the company’s financial trajectory.
Moving forward, Acer’s performance is likely to be influenced by two key factors: the trajectory of component pricing and the effectiveness of the market rollout for its newly launched gaming and AI products. While the expansion into higher-margin segments represents a significant step toward diversification, the overall impact will depend on broader supply chain and cost developments.
