Nscale Secures €1.7 Billion Series C to Drive Global AI Infrastructure Expansion

Nscale secures €1.7 billion in Series C funding, propelling its €12.6 billion valuation to expand global AI infrastructure across three continents.

British AI infrastructure hyperscaler Nscale announced today that it has secured €1.7 billion ($2 billion) in Series C funding, aimed at furthering its global expansion of vertically integrated AI infrastructure. This funding will support Nscale’s development of GPU compute, networking, data services, and orchestration software across Europe, North America, and Asia.

The funding round was led by Aker ASA and 8090 Industries, valuing Nscale at €12.6 billion ($14.6 billion). Other notable participants included Astra Capital Management, Citadel, Dell, Jane Street, Lenovo, Linden Advisors, Nokia, NVIDIA, and Point72. This latest round follows Nscale’s €1.1 billion debt facility announced in February and its €936 million Series B funding achieved in September 2025.

“This is the fourth industrial revolution; the world is changing at a rapid pace. Over the next five years, Artificial Intelligence will be integrated into every industry, every product, and every job,” said Josh Payne, CEO and Founder of Nscale. He emphasized the transformative potential of AI in various sectors, including drug discovery and autonomous travel, stating that this is leading to “the largest infrastructure buildout in human history.” Nscale aims to be at the forefront of this movement, building the foundational infrastructure necessary for future AI advancements.

Nscale’s massive funding places it among the largest fundraising efforts in Europe’s burgeoning AI infrastructure sector, which has seen a series of significant investments in 2025 and 2026. Other noteworthy rounds include Helsinki-based DataCrunch, which raised €55 million in Series A funding, London-based NexGen Cloud securing €41 million for GPU cloud capacity, and PoliCloud in Cannes raising €7.5 million in Seed funding.

Investment is also flowing into enabling technologies for large-scale AI deployment. For instance, Lausanne-based Corintis has raised €20 million to develop chip-cooling technology to alleviate compute bottlenecks, while Berlin-based Cognee secured €7.5 million to enhance enterprise AI memory infrastructure. In the UK, Encord raised €50 million in Series C funding to expand its AI-focused data infrastructure platform.

Collectively, these funding rounds, along with Nscale’s Series C, represent approximately €1.88 billion directed toward Europe’s AI infrastructure and enabling technologies ecosystem. Øyvind Eriksen, President and CEO of Aker ASA, noted that this step consolidates governance and delivery, enabling faster progress and sustainable value creation for the company.

Founded in 2024, Nscale is engineered for AI infrastructure through vertically integrated solutions and modular data center design across multiple regions. The recent capital injection will deepen Nscale’s infrastructure footprint, expand its engineering and operations teams, and enhance its platform, facilitating large-scale AI deployments. The company’s commitment to addressing market scaling constraints remains a priority as it aims to deliver reliable production-grade AI solutions.

“We are living through a new era defined by AI, and the limiting factor is infrastructure,” stated Rayyan Islam, co-founder and General Partner of 8090 Industries. He emphasized the importance of compute, energy, and deployment capacity in determining which nations and companies will lead the technological and economic advances of the future. “Nscale has built a platform uniquely capable of solving this challenge by vertically integrating the critical layers of AI infrastructure,” he added.

In addition to the funding, Nscale has appointed three new Directors to its Board: Sheryl Sandberg, Susan Decker, and Nick Clegg. Their extensive experience in technology, policy, operations, and governance will provide valuable insights as Nscale continues its growth. Sandberg, co-founder of Sandberg Bernthal Venture Partners and former COO of Meta Platforms, brings expertise in scaling global technology companies. Decker, who is CEO and co-founder of Raftr and former President of Yahoo!, offers strong governance experience, while Clegg, now a General Partner at Hiro Capital and former President of Global Affairs at Meta, adds valuable perspective on technology and regulation.

These leaders join existing board members, including Josh Payne and Øyvind Eriksen. Alongside the Series C funding, Nscale has finalized an agreement with Aker to integrate the Aker Nscale joint venture—first announced in July 2025—fully into Nscale. Aker will remain a significant shareholder, with Eriksen continuing to serve on the Nscale Board.

This consolidation aims to streamline governance while ensuring continuity for ongoing projects, reflecting Nscale’s commitment to local skills development and investment in regional infrastructure, which remains unchanged.
