Mindset CoPilot Launches AI Literacy Platform to Enhance Educators’ Decision-Making

Mindset CoPilot launches its AI-supported Literacy Mindset platform to enhance educators’ decision-making, improving literacy instruction through structured practice and feedback.

Mindset CoPilot has officially gone public, as announced by its founding team on LinkedIn, launching a new AI-supported professional learning platform designed to enhance structured practice, feedback, and reflection, moving away from traditional content delivery methods. The platform will initially focus on education, with its first application, Literacy Mindset, aimed at improving literacy instruction through a Science of Reading-aligned framework intended to help educators and coaches make better instructional decisions in real classroom settings.

In a recent LinkedIn post, Sunil Gunderia, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Mindset CoPilot, outlined the platform’s rationale and its focus on strengthening professional judgment. He emphasized the need for a shift in how professional learning is structured, noting, “We built Mindset CoPilot to strengthen professional judgment through science-grounded practice, feedback, and reflection.” Gunderia highlighted that while many professionals are required to make high-stakes decisions in real time, existing training models primarily focus on knowledge acquisition rather than the rehearsal necessary to cultivate reliable judgment. He asserted, “Practice matters, especially when small decisions compound.”

Mindset CoPilot’s initial rollout will prioritize literacy instruction, an area where Gunderia believes that instructional precision can significantly affect student outcomes. He stated, “Literacy Mindset is our first public application, focused on literacy instruction where instructional precision and professional judgment have an outsized impact on learners.” The application allows educators to rehearse instructional decisions through simulated classroom scenarios before implementing them in live environments. AI technology will provide support by ensuring consistency and scalability, while maintaining the focus on educators’ judgment.

The launch also brings attention to the expertise of the founding team, which includes Paige C. Pullen, Co-Founder and Chief Learning Officer. Pullen addressed the instructional challenges the platform seeks to mitigate, writing, “For much of my career, I have worked on the gap between what literacy research tells us and what educators can reliably do in real classrooms.” She emphasized the need for professional learning to extend beyond mere exposure to evidence, advocating for a platform that enables educators to rehearse instructional decision-making in realistic contexts and receive targeted feedback prior to real classroom applications.

The engineering aspect of the platform is led by Juan Irming, who is focused on developing secure and responsible AI systems. Mindset CoPilot is designed around repeatable cycles of learning, practice, feedback, reflection, and application. Drawing on principles from learning and instructional science, the platform employs AI to reduce cognitive load and surface decision-relevant signals, rather than replacing professional judgment.

Within the literacy domain, the approach aims to assist educators in honing high-leverage instructional moves, interpreting student responses, and refining their decisions over time in a risk-free environment. This public launch follows Gunderia’s transition from Age of Learning, where he served as Chief Strategy Officer and contributed to the development of personalized mastery learning systems, such as those utilized in My Reading Academy and My Math Academy.

Reflecting on this new venture, Gunderia acknowledged his shift in focus toward building systems that seamlessly connect knowledge, skills, and confident actions. As Mindset CoPilot begins collaborating with pilot and research partners, additional details regarding the platform’s early implementation are anticipated. Pullen reiterated the shared vision of the founding team, stating, “I’m partnering with Gunderia and Irming because we share a conviction that strengthening professional judgment through structured practice, supported by AI, can improve outcomes for educators and the students they serve.”
