Proximus, Belgium’s leading telecommunications operator, has announced significant changes to its internal governance and senior management structure as it aims to enhance its customer focus and strengthen its B2B offerings. The restructuring, which includes the formation of a newly defined leadership team known as the Proximus Leadership Squad, comes ahead of the company’s upcoming strategic plan announcement scheduled for February 27.
The adjustments are designed to streamline operations and foster an environment of simplification, efficiency, trust, and empowerment. Seckin Arikan will continue to lead Proximus Global activities, reporting directly to CEO Stijn Bijnens. Arikan’s role emphasizes Proximus’ ongoing commitment to innovation and customer engagement.
Under the new structure, the B2B organization will provide a comprehensive portfolio that includes telecommunications and IT services for enterprise clients. This team will cater to both small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and larger corporations, including public sector markets. Fabrice De Windt will spearhead Proximus NXT, reporting to Renaud Tilmans, who will oversee the broader B2B operations as its lead.
To further align with evolving market needs, Jim Casteele will take on the role of B2C & AI Lead, overseeing the cross-functional AI transformation program. This initiative aims to unify all AI-related efforts and strategy improvements, significantly enhancing customer experience.
Proximus has made customer satisfaction a core strategic priority. Donatienne Goemans has been appointed as Customer Operations Lead within the Proximus Leadership Squad. This new role underscores the company’s dedication to delivering an optimal customer experience across all service segments.
In a move to bolster its technological capabilities, Jeroen Verbruggen has been appointed as IT Lead and will also join the Leadership Squad. His mandate includes supporting various business units in developing cutting-edge digital solutions and enhancing the security and performance of the company’s critical infrastructure.
The other members of the Proximus Leadership Squad, whose roles remain unchanged, include Ben Appel (Group Corporate Affairs Lead), Nicolas Gaertner (Group Finance Lead a.i.), Geert Standaert (Network Lead, including wholesale activities), and Jan Van Acoleyen (Group Human Capital Lead).
Additionally, Anne-Valérie Heuschen will assume the role of Group Secretary General, reporting to the CEO and supporting the Proximus Group Board. These leadership changes are effective immediately and reflect Proximus’ strategic shift towards a more integrated and responsive business model, particularly in the rapidly evolving technology landscape.
The reorganization reflects broader industry trends where telecommunications companies are increasingly pivoting towards integrated solutions that encompass both traditional and digital services.
