UN AI Chief Dr. Mehdi Snène joins billion-dollar investors at WAM Morocco to spearhead Africa’s industrial transformation with over 45 hours of strategic insights.

The World Advanced Manufacturing & Future Mobility Exhibition (WAM Morocco) is set to take place in Casablanca from January 20 to 22, 2024. The event has garnered significant attention, securing over 60 speakers from more than 20 countries, presenting over 45 hours of strategic content, establishing itself as a pivotal platform for industrial transformation in the region.

This conference will feature notable leaders such as Dr. Mehdi Snène, Chief AI Officer of the United Nations, Alain Sanchez, Chief Information & Security Officer for EMEA at Fortinet, Maxime de Bonrepos, Vice President of Asset Management Renewables at ENGIE, Isaac Chetrit, Board Director of Blazie Holdings, and Pavlo Stergard, Deputy Head for MENA at Bpifrance, marking their first regional appearances.

Alain Sanchez highlighted the importance of cybersecurity as manufacturing increasingly digitizes, asserting that “Morocco’s ambition to become a regional manufacturing hub demands world-class digital infrastructure.” He suggested that WAM Morocco provides an ideal setting for building resilient industrial ecosystems that can compete globally.

The conference will address crucial topics such as data centers for future-ready industries, global capital flows, green manufacturing, AI deployment, supply chain sovereignty, and energy transition. Additional first-time speakers include Fabrizio Lodovico, Managing Director of Vigel, and Jorge Sebastião, Co-Founder and CTO of Ecox, who has served as an advisor to the Dubai government on blockchain technology.

Amine Sounni, Co-Founder of Terabase Energy, will also speak, representing projects worth $10 billion in investment. This diverse lineup underscores WAM Morocco’s goal of fostering collaboration and innovation within Africa’s industrial landscape.
