Ondas Networks announced on March 9, 2026, that it has entered into a merger agreement with U.S. defense contractor Mistral. This strategic move aims to enhance Ondas’ access to U.S. military procurement channels and bolster its domestic manufacturing and integration capabilities. The agreement will afford Ondas direct prime contractor access to contract vehicles utilized by the U.S. Army and U.S. Special Operations Command, alongside the establishment of U.S.-based production and systems integration infrastructure.
The merger is projected to significantly expand Ondas’ presence within the defense and public safety sectors. Mistral has a notable history, having served as a prime contractor on over $1 billion in indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) and Department of Defense contracts. Ondas anticipates that this experience will accelerate the deployment of its autonomous air and ground systems across federal defense, homeland security, and state-level public safety programs.
According to Ondas, this merger aligns with its broader strategy to pivot toward participation in multi-year government contract vehicles instead of relying primarily on standalone system deployments. The company plans to file a Form 8-K related to the merger and will discuss Mistral further during its earnings call scheduled for March 25, 2026.
“Mistral brings decades of trusted performance supporting U.S. defense and public safety customers, along with a highly experienced team that has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to introduce advanced technologies into operational programs,” stated Eric Brock, Chairman and CEO of Ondas. He emphasized that combining Mistral’s prime contractor capabilities and program expertise with Ondas’ expanding portfolio of autonomous platforms positions them effectively to deliver integrated mission solutions directly to U.S. defense customers.
Headquartered in Bethesda, Maryland, Mistral has spent years supporting defense, federal, and public safety initiatives. The company operates U.S.-based manufacturing, assembly, integration, and quality assurance facilities designed for rapid technological deployment while adhering to U.S. defense sourcing requirements. Mistral also acts as a prime contractor on procurement vehicles facilitating uncrewed and autonomous platforms for the U.S. Army and U.S. Special Operations Command, covering mission equipment integration, defense electronics, and lifecycle sustainment services.
“Joining Ondas represents an exciting new chapter for Mistral,” said Eyal Banai, CEO of Mistral Inc. He noted that their team has been integral in supporting critical defense and public safety programs. The addition of Ondas’ unique autonomous systems solutions allows Mistral to enhance its capabilities while continuing to meet the reliability and execution standards expected by its customers. With Ondas’ scale, technology portfolio, and global reach, Mistral is poised to better support domestic defense customers and industry partners as mission requirements evolve.
The merger aligns with Ondas’ efforts to consolidate its footprint in the U.S. defense sector by integrating its autonomous aerial and ground platforms, including counter-drone, robotic, and intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance systems, with Mistral’s established government contracting and integration infrastructure.
Company officials believe that the combined capabilities will enable Ondas to compete more effectively for multi-year Department of Defense contract vehicles and program-of-record opportunities. This merger is expected to deliver integrated autonomous solutions that are in line with defense modernization priorities, homeland security needs, and state public safety missions.
