Oakley and Meta unveil the Vanguard AI glasses in India, priced at Rs. 52,300, featuring voice-activated workout stats and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Oakley and Meta have officially launched the Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses in India, targeting athletes and outdoor enthusiasts with performance-focused smart eyewear. First unveiled at Meta Connect, the Vanguard glasses feature a snug design compatible with helmets and boast IP67 protection against water and dust, essential for cyclists and those engaged in rigorous training activities.

Equipped with Oakley’s PRIZM lenses, the glasses enhance colors and contrast, improving visibility in outdoor environments. Users can leverage Meta AI to access their workout statistics through voice commands, providing a hands-free experience during physical activities. The 12MP ultra-wide camera allows users to capture photos and videos effortlessly, while open-ear speakers ensure that audio can be heard without obstructing surrounding sounds.

The glasses offer a battery life of up to nine hours, with the charging case providing additional power for extended use. Priced at Rs. 52,300 (PHP 34,011.35), the Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses are now available at select optical stores across India. However, the timeline for their availability in global markets remains unclear.

The Vanguard AI glasses are designed with an array of specifications tailored for a seamless user experience. They feature Oakley’s Prizm 24K lenses with Iridium treatment, 32GB of storage, and a medium image stabilization system for the 12MP ultra-wide lens. The device is compatible with iOS 15.2 and Android 10+, and supports advanced connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3. The glasses weigh 67 grams, while the case adds an additional 258 grams. They come in various frame options, including black frames with PRIZM 24K, white frames with PRIZM Black, and others.

As smart eyewear becomes increasingly popular, the launch of the Oakley Meta Vanguard AI glasses underscores a growing trend towards integrating technology into everyday items, particularly for fitness and outdoor activities. The collaboration between Oakley and Meta highlights the potential for enhanced user experiences through advanced optics and AI capabilities. With the increasing demand for multifunctional devices, the Vanguard AI glasses may pave the way for future innovations in the smart eyewear market.
