Anthropic has set a new benchmark in the world of artificial intelligence, securing a remarkable $30 billion in its Series G funding round, which elevates its valuation to an astounding $380 billion. This milestone marks one of the largest private financings in technology history, underscoring the growing dominance of enterprise-level AI solutions.

Despite ongoing discussions about the sustainability of the AI market—whether it is akin to the “foam of beer” or the “foam of soap”—investors continue to pour billions into the sector, driven by an accelerating AI race that has exceeded even the most optimistic projections. The latest funding round, which drew significant interest, was led by GIC and Coatue, with contributions from notable firms including D. E. Shaw Ventures, Dragoneer, Founders Fund, ICONIQ, and MGX, among others. Participating investors also included Microsoft and NVIDIA, showcasing the high stakes involved.

For the first time, Anthropic disclosed its annualized revenue has reached $14 billion, growing more than tenfold in just three years. The coding agent Claude Code has become a significant revenue driver, with annualized earnings exceeding $2.5 billion, reflecting a doubling in user engagement since the start of the year. Furthermore, the number of clients spending over $100,000 annually on Anthropic services has surged sevenfold in the past year, with eight of the top ten Fortune 500 companies currently utilizing Claude.

Anthropic’s trajectory can be attributed to its strategic focus on enterprise users. This approach has proven advantageous compared to models aimed at general consumers, as enterprise clients typically exhibit stronger payment capabilities and higher retention rates. The company’s commitment to an “enterprise-first” strategy is increasingly viewed as a critical differentiator in the AI landscape, influencing investment trends on Wall Street. Firms like Google and Anthropic are gaining favor for their enterprise implementation capabilities, in contrast to OpenAI and xAI, which are seen as more consumer-oriented.

Interestingly, data from financial service provider Ramp indicates that Anthropic is not merely attracting users from competitors but expanding its own user base. Currently, 20% of enterprises using Ramp also subscribe to Anthropic, a significant increase from 4% the previous year. Additionally, 79% of all paying users of OpenAI also utilize Claude, highlighting a synergistic market rather than a zero-sum competition.

Central to Anthropic’s growth is the success of Claude Code, which now accounts for 4% of all code submissions on GitHub globally, having doubled in the last month. Since the beginning of 2026, enterprise subscription volumes for Claude Code have increased fourfold, with enterprise clients now contributing over half of its revenue. Boris Cherny, the architect behind Claude Code, noted a doubling in weekly active users, including many who had never previously engaged in coding.

The capabilities of Claude are not limited to programming; it is expanding into financial analysis, data modeling, sales, network security, and scientific research, thereby enhancing its versatility as a comprehensive AI tool. In January 2026 alone, Anthropic introduced more than 30 new products and features, most notably “Cowork,” which extends Claude Code’s engineering prowess to a wider array of knowledge work tasks, sparking notable market reactions.

As part of its ongoing expansion, Anthropic’s Claude is now the only advanced AI model deployable across the major cloud platforms—Amazon AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft Azure. This flexibility enables Anthropic to cater to a variety of enterprise needs, optimizing performance while ensuring system resilience.

Amidst the triumph, Elon Musk has publicly criticized Anthropic, labeling it a “hypocrite” and casting doubt on its ethical stance. Musk pointedly remarked, “Your AI hates white people and Asians, especially the Chinese, heterosexuals, and men. It is both misanthropic and evil,” a biting jab at the company’s mission.

As Anthropic continues to advance its infrastructure and product suite, the implications for the AI industry are profound. The rapid pace of innovation and the shift towards enterprise solutions could set new standards for AI deployment and integration in business operations.
