On March 12, the 2026 China Appliance & Electronics Expo (AWE2026) officially opened at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, showcasing innovations in the consumer electronics sector. Chinese technology brand Ugreen participated under the theme “Connecting AI, Safeguarding the Future,” unveiling its AI NAS private cloud product matrix and over 30 new digital products, including a new generation of safe fast-charging solutions. The company emphasized its commitment to advancing intelligent storage and charging safety through scenario-based experiences.
In an interview with 36Kr, Chen Xiaolin, head of Ugreen’s brand management department, highlighted AWE as a critical platform for communication between enterprises and users in the home appliance and consumer electronics sector. “Ugreen hopes to showcase the achievements accumulated over the years in connection technology, data storage, and the AI field through such a platform and provide better solutions based on user needs,” he stated.
Initially recognized for its connecting accessories like data cables and docking stations, Ugreen has shifted its focus toward more technically intensive product lines, including AI NAS and intelligent storage ecosystems. The company clarified that this pivot is not merely a rebranding but a natural evolution stemming from years of technological advancement.
“Ugreen’s development has always been centered around user needs,” said Xiaolin. “As the number of users’ digital devices and data volume increased, we gradually entered the fields of storage, charging, and AI-related areas. This is a logical development process.”
One of the central highlights of the exhibition was Ugreen’s AI NAS product line, which allows families to create their own data centers. The iDX series features large-language model capabilities, enabling users to search for and interact with files via natural semantic dialogue. It offers functionalities such as automatic photo organization and offline interaction with the Uliya AI assistant, which can transcribe or summarize voice notes within seconds.
With the rise of smart devices and high-definition video content, the demand for data storage and privacy solutions has intensified. Ugreen remarked, “Data storage is actually a necessity for everyone.” The company noted that as users demand greater storage capacity and enhanced privacy protection, NAS solutions have regained prominence.
Unlike traditional cloud storage, Ugreen’s AI NAS emphasizes local computing power and private data management, mitigating the privacy risks associated with uploading sensitive information to the cloud. Chen Xiaolin added that Ugreen’s NAS products have received both SGS data security and privacy security certifications, as well as Rheinland certification. Ugreen collaborates with leading storage manufacturers, using dedicated hard drives to ensure data reliability.
“Security is not a marketing concept but a basic requirement for products,” Xiaolin asserted. He highlighted the importance of security in both NAS and charging solutions.
During the exhibition, Ugreen also set up a creator workstation scenario to illustrate the application of NAS in video material management and team collaboration, simulating a film-making environment. In a further push toward integrating AI into its ecosystem, Ugreen announced a strategic partnership with MiniMax, an AI company, to develop a joint AI solution for NAS users that incorporates private cloud scenarios and large-model technology.
The newly launched OpenClaw application on Ugreen’s UGOS Pro application center allows users to access large-model capabilities with a single installation click, bypassing the complex setups traditionally required for deploying AI tools on NAS. This initiative aims to democratize access to advanced AI technologies.
In terms of technical architecture, the collaboration integrates MiniMax’s large-model capabilities into OpenClaw, allowing users to utilize AI for content understanding and automated task processing while keeping core data in local private storage. To facilitate user adoption, Ugreen also offers a 30-day free trial for NAS users to access MiniMax’s large model.
Beyond AI collaboration, Ugreen announced multiple ecosystem partnerships, including a project with Li Auto to launch an in-vehicle NAS private cloud version, facilitating data interconnection between in-vehicle systems and local storage. Additionally, a partnership with China Photography News aims to deliver image storage and management solutions for photography creators.
Industry experts indicate that as AI technologies continue to evolve, NAS is transitioning from a simple data storage device to a smart data center for homes and individuals.
Ugreen also introduced a range of safe fast-charging products at the exhibition, including GaN chargers with 3C certification and mobile power supplies. A standout product was the 300W eight-port display charger, designed not just for intelligent fast charging but also as a desktop energy management center, complete with remote management capabilities.
Chen Xiaolin noted Ugreen’s commitment to charging technology, stating, “Since entering the charging field in 2018, Ugreen has participated in drafting more than 20 industry standards and national standards related to charging.” The company continues to innovate within the realm of GaN applications, intelligent power distribution, and high-density product structures.
As discussions at the exhibition highlighted the importance of data security and charging solutions, industry figures underscored the necessity for creators to manage their own data storage. Looking ahead, Ugreen aims to persist in its investment in data and charging security while expanding application scenarios through AI technology, thus enhancing the digital living infrastructure around data and energy.
