Kyndryl Launches Agentic Service Management to Enable Scalable AI-Native Workflows

Kyndryl launches Agentic Service Management, enabling organizations to transition to autonomous AI-native workflows, addressing gaps in governance for over 68% of firms investing in AI.

NEW YORK, April 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Kyndryl (NYSE: KD), a prominent provider of mission-critical enterprise technology services, has launched its Agentic Service Management. This initiative aims to facilitate the transition from traditional service operations to autonomous, intelligent workflows at scale, utilizing a comprehensive maturity model, structured assessments, and implementation blueprints.

Kyndryl’s Agentic Service Management framework evaluates alignment with emerging industry standards and governance frameworks tailored for AI-native environments. The goal is to enable customers to adopt agentic IT service management, emphasizing security and reliability as foundational design principles. According to the Kyndryl Readiness Report, while over two-thirds of organizations are heavily investing in AI, nearly half struggle to realize significant returns, often due to governance and workflow structures that are outdated and rooted in pre-AI practices.

“Most enterprise environments were built for people running tickets and tools, not for fleets of autonomous agents executing tasks across hybrid and multi-cloud estates—and this mismatch is limiting AI from moving out of pilots to outcomes,” said Kris Lovejoy, Global Head of Strategy at Kyndryl. He emphasized the need for organizations to establish clear controls and repeatable practices that allow AI agents to function autonomously, while ensuring human accountability for governance and service outcomes.

Kyndryl’s approach is built on decades of experience managing critical infrastructure for thousands of enterprises, combined with its own insights from implementing agentic AI within its service delivery operations. This dual focus is designed to bridge the gap between AI innovation and operational readiness, positioning organizations to better leverage emerging technologies.

Offered through Kyndryl Consult, the Agentic Service Management assessment evaluates an organization’s current state and identifies gaps in service management, AI governance, security, and operations. This assessment enables clients to review existing policies and workflows against recognized standards, including ISO 42001, to measure their readiness for agentic operations. Following this, Kyndryl provides a customized gap analysis and a phased roadmap to facilitate responsible adoption of agentic IT service management, incorporating essential guardrails and human oversight for autonomous capabilities across cloud-native and AI-native environments.

Additionally, Kyndryl has introduced Kyndryl Agentic AI Digital Trust, a standalone service that supports Agentic Service Management by assisting enterprises in governing, reducing risk, and scaling agentic AI deployments across hybrid and multi-cloud settings. This service is particularly crucial for regulated industries where data protection, compliance, and classification are paramount.

Kyndryl is also applying its Agentic Service Management framework internally to enhance its IT service delivery to clients. Through Kyndryl Bridge, several agentic capabilities are already being made available for customers, thereby enriching operational intelligence and augmenting decision-making processes for those overseeing mission-critical systems. Kyndryl’s agentic AI capabilities build on an existing automation foundation, which currently executes nearly 200 million automations each month through over 8,000 certified playbooks.

The launch of Agentic Service Management represents a significant step for Kyndryl in adapting to the evolving landscape of enterprise technology. As organizations increasingly embrace AI, the need for a robust framework that integrates intelligent workflows with existing processes is more vital than ever. This development not only enhances Kyndryl’s service offerings but also reflects broader trends in the industry towards more autonomous IT operations.
