Omnea Launches MCP Server, Integrating Procurement Data with Claude, ChatGPT, and More

Omnea launches its MCP Server, the first platform integrating supplier data with tools like ChatGPT and Claude to streamline procurement workflows and enhance productivity.

Omnea, a London-based procurement platform, has launched its MCP (Model Context Protocol) Server, positioning itself as the first intake and orchestration platform offering direct access to supplier data through widely used AI tools. Announced on April 30, 2026, the MCP Server allows procurement teams to leverage systems like Claude, ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Cohere North, and Cursor to streamline their workflows and enhance productivity.

The growing reliance on AI assistants in the workplace has created a disparity between where procurement data is stored and the tools teams utilize for decision-making. Omnea’s MCP aims to bridge this gap, ensuring that it remains the core system for action and intelligence while making essential data readily accessible in the environments where teams operate.

With the MCP, procurement professionals can inquire about supplier relationships, outstanding purchase orders, or spend rankings using simple language within their preferred AI tools. This capability minimizes time spent on administrative tasks, such as switching between applications and compiling reports. Omnea plans to expand the MCP’s functionalities to allow users to execute tasks directly across connected systems, potentially leading to a more autonomous procurement process.

In practical terms, the MCP Server enables users to query information quickly; they can ask AI tools like Claude who holds a specific supplier relationship or which suppliers are awaiting payment, with responses generated in seconds. Moreover, when Omnea’s data is integrated with other connected systems, teams can harness a breadth of insights that previously required extensive manual effort to compile.

Alexander Pilsl, VP of Procurement Strategy at The Adecco Group, remarked on the advancement, stating, “Every B2B tool is promising AI. Omnea is the first one in our stack that actually plugged into the AI tools we were already using.” This sentiment underscores the significance of the MCP in enhancing operational efficiency within procurement departments.

Ben Freeman, CEO and Founder of Omnea, emphasized the value of the MCP, asserting, “Procurement teams shouldn’t have to choose between using AI tools and having access to accurate supplier data. Our MCP means they get both – Omnea’s structured, governed data, available right where they’re already working.” This dual advantage positions Omnea as a crucial player in the evolving landscape of procurement technology.

The MCP is currently available to all customers, incorporating existing enterprise security controls and governance policies established by Omnea. This launch not only signifies a technological leap for the company but also highlights the increasing importance of integrating AI with traditional procurement processes.

Omnea is noted for its AI-native capabilities in procurement orchestration and third-party risk management, aimed at enabling modern enterprises to expedite decision-making, control costs, and incorporate governance in every purchase. As the procurement landscape continues to evolve, tools like the MCP Server are likely to play a pivotal role in reshaping how organizations manage supplier relationships and data access.
