Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (NASDAQ: CHKP), a leading provider of cybersecurity solutions, has unveiled its latest offering, the Check Point Quantum Firewall Software R82.10. This software release introduces over 20 new capabilities aimed at helping enterprises adopt artificial intelligence (AI) securely, enforce Zero Trust principles, and enhance protection across hybrid mesh networks.

As organizations increasingly integrate AI into their operations, security teams face mounting pressure to safeguard an expanding array of data and applications across diverse environments. Nataly Kremer, Chief Product Officer at Check Point, emphasized that R82.10 facilitates a shift towards a prevention-first security model, consolidating management, reinforcing Zero Trust protocols, and adding essential protections that support the responsible adoption and development of AI.

The rapid escalation in the use of AI tools and large language model (LLM) development has intensified connectivity among users, branches, and cloud environments, consequently raising new security concerns. These include threats generated by AI, identity theft, and configuration discrepancies. The R82.10 software addresses these challenges through unified, prevention-focused capabilities that enhance visibility, control, and security across hybrid networks.

Frank Dickson, Group Vice President for Security & Trust at IDC, noted that as organizations pursue efficiency through AI, security professionals must not hinder innovation due to security risks. He asserted that the benefits of innovation must be balanced against the emerging threats posed by AI. “Enterprises need to reduce risk, unify controls, and stay ahead of sophisticated malicious actors,” he stated, adding that Check Point’s strategy of embedding AI security into the network stack is an effective approach to enhance an organization’s AI security posture.

R82.10 introduces capabilities across four critical areas where enterprises are currently experiencing the most significant operational pressures. Firstly, it strengthens oversight of AI-related activities by detecting unauthorized use of generative AI tools and expanding visibility into applications like ChatGPT and Claude. Additionally, it monitors model context protocol (MCP) usage to protect AI-powered workflows.

Secondly, the software enhances security for hybrid mesh networks by providing centralized internet access management for Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) and firewalls, simplifying gateway-to-SASE connectivity, and improving identity and device posture validation to better support Zero Trust on a larger scale.

Thirdly, R82.10 adopts a prevention-first approach to modern threats, introducing phishing protection that operates without HTTPS inspection, adaptive intrusion prevention systems (IPS) to alleviate alert fatigue, and new Threat Prevention Insights to identify misconfigurations and security gaps before they can be exploited by attackers.

Lastly, R82.10 eliminates operational silos through a unified security platform, expanding Check Point’s open-garden architecture to include more than 250 integrations. This allows organizations to apply endpoint posture signals from existing providers directly within Check Point policies, thereby enhancing identity-based controls and Zero Trust enforcement.
