Hyundai has officially launched the production version of its Mobile Eccentric Droid (MobED) robot in Tokyo, marking a significant milestone four years after the introduction of the initial concept. The innovative “Eccentric Control” mechanism featured in the MobED enables the robot to adjust its stance and each wheel individually, ensuring smooth movement even on steep surfaces. The company has introduced two distinct versions of the robot: the Basic model, which can be operated via remote control, and the Pro model, featuring a comprehensive self-driving system.

Both versions of MobED are powered by a 1.47 kWh battery, providing an operational time of up to four hours on a single charge. The batteries can be recharged in approximately 2.5 hours, enhancing the efficiency of its deployment in practical scenarios.
