Hut 8, Anthropic, and Fluidstack Partner to Deploy 2,295 MW of AI Infrastructure

Hut 8 partners with Anthropic and Fluidstack to deploy up to 2,295 MW of AI infrastructure, revolutionizing energy-intensive tech support by 2027.

Hut 8 Corp. (Nasdaq, TSX: HUT) has announced a significant partnership with Anthropic and Fluidstack to enhance the deployment of hyperscale AI infrastructure in the United States. The agreement, revealed on December 17, 2025, aims to develop and deliver a minimum of 245 megawatts (MW) and up to 2,295 MW of AI data center infrastructure, primarily at Hut 8’s River Bend campus in Louisiana.

The collaboration is structured in several phases, commencing with Tranche 1, which will see Hut 8 and Fluidstack establish an initial capacity of 245 MW of IT infrastructure, backed by an additional 330 MW of utility capacity at the River Bend site. Subsequent tranches include a Right of First Offer for up to 1,000 MW of further IT capacity, conditioned on power expansion at River Bend, and a potential development of up to 1,050 MW of optional capacity across Hut 8’s broader development pipeline.

“Scaling frontier AI infrastructure is, at its core, a power challenge,” noted Asher Genoot, CEO of Hut 8. He emphasized that Hut 8’s power-first, innovation-driven approach equips them to develop greenfield data center sites at a pace and scale that meets the demands of leading AI model developers. This partnership is anticipated to align power, data center design, and compute deployment into an integrated platform capable of delivering at gigawatt scale.

James Bradbury, Head of Compute at Anthropic, remarked on the importance of this partnership as a continuation of their existing collaboration with Fluidstack. He stated that Hut 8’s capability to deliver large-scale infrastructure would provide essential support for advancing Anthropic’s AI models, which are expected to see additional capacity come online by early 2027.

Gary Wu, Co-founder and CEO of Fluidstack, echoed these sentiments, highlighting Fluidstack’s mission to address compute challenges at scale. He expressed pride in collaborating with Hut 8 to design and operate the foundational infrastructure necessary for leading AI labs.

Hut 8 will host a conference call on December 17, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. ET to discuss this partnership in detail. Investors can access the live webcast through the official Hut 8 website.

The partnership marks a significant step forward for Hut 8, a company recognized for its role as an energy infrastructure platform that integrates power and digital infrastructure. The firm currently manages 1,020 MW of energy capacity, with 330 MW under construction and 1,230 MW in development across 19 sites in the U.S. and Canada.

Hut 8’s portfolio includes various data centers focused on Bitcoin mining, hosting, and high-performance computing, along with power generation assets. As the demand for AI infrastructure continues to grow, this partnership positions Hut 8 to play a central role in supporting the next generation of energy-intensive technologies.
