Rapid7 Acquires Kenzo Security to Enhance AI-Driven Threat Detection Efficiency

Rapid7 acquires Kenzo Security to transform threat detection, achieving a 94% reduction in investigation time and expanding alert coverage from 12% to 100%

Rapid7, an AI-powered cybersecurity company, has acquired Kenzo Security, an agentic AI security platform, to enhance its Command Platform and accelerate the transition towards fully autonomous, machine-speed security operations. The acquisition, announced recently, aims to transform Rapid7’s managed detection and response offerings from AI-assisted workflows into AI-driven systems capable of proactively identifying and addressing cybersecurity threats.

The integration of Kenzo Security’s technology, which employs a multi-agent AI architecture and a data-centric approach, is designed to unify fragmented security data and automate complex investigations. This shift is intended to address a significant limitation in current security operations, where organizations often investigate only a fraction of alerts generated across their environments. By leveraging Kenzo’s capabilities, Rapid7 anticipates a substantial expansion in coverage and a marked improvement in the speed and consistency of threat detection and response.

Kenzo Security’s platform utilizes a network of specialized AI agents that operate within an entity-centric data mesh to investigate alerts, correlate signals, and execute dynamic response workflows. This system continuously ingests and analyzes data across a variety of environments, including endpoints, identities, cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and third-party sources, all without necessitating additional human intervention. As a result, customer deployments using Kenzo’s technology have reported significant performance enhancements, including a 94% reduction in investigation time and an increase in alert coverage from 12% to 100%. These advancements are aimed at reducing the manual workloads for security teams while bolstering overall cyber resilience.

The acquisition will introduce several new features, such as full machine-speed alert investigation, scalable and dynamic threat analysis, and transparent and auditable AI decision-making. Additionally, human analysts will be able to define key decision points while AI manages execution, creating a more efficient workflow. According to Rapid7, this move aligns with its broader strategy to deliver preemptive cybersecurity operations that can effectively keep pace with increasingly sophisticated, AI-enabled attackers. The company has indicated that it does not expect the acquisition to materially impact its revenue, annual recurring revenue, profitability, or free cash flow.

The leadership at Kenzo Security has emphasized that the merger will not only expand the reach of its AI platform but will also enhance outcomes through access to Rapid7’s extensive global customer base and data ecosystem. “Reactive security models have reached their limits. Attackers are using AI to move faster, attack surface complexity is accelerating, and security teams are expected to improve outcomes without additional resources,” said Corey Thomas, CEO of Rapid7. “Kenzo Security advances our mission to enable security operations that preempt attackers with predictive precision and machine-scale.”

Partha Naidu, Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder of Kenzo Security, remarked, “We built Kenzo Security as a revolutionary AI platform designed to help organizations manage security in ways that were not possible before. In customer deployments, we’ve seen investigation time shrink from hours to minutes, and instead of sampling or prioritizing a subset, the platform scales to investigate every alert end-to-end.”

Harish Singh, CEO and Co-Founder of Kenzo Security, added, “Our vision for AI-powered cybersecurity is in lockstep with Rapid7’s data-centric approach. Our integrated models will act as a continuous engine that improves outcomes in real time, while the reach of Rapid7’s global customer base will accelerate the accuracy and effectiveness of Kenzo’s technology. I’m excited about the results that we will deliver together.”

This acquisition is reflective of a broader trend in the cybersecurity landscape, where companies are increasingly relying on AI technologies to enhance their security operations. As cyber threats continue to evolve and attackers employ advanced technologies, the integration of AI-driven solutions is likely to be critical for organizations seeking to strengthen their defenses and respond quickly to potential threats.

At AIPressa, my work focuses on exploring the paradox of AI in cybersecurity: it's both our best defense and our greatest threat. I've closely followed how AI systems detect vulnerabilities in milliseconds while attackers simultaneously use them to create increasingly sophisticated malware. My approach: explaining technical complexities in an accessible way without losing the urgency of the topic. When I'm not researching the latest AI-driven threats, I'm probably testing security tools or reading about the next attack vector keeping CISOs awake at night.
