MINISFORUM and AMD Launch AI Mini Workstation MS-S1 MAX, Cutting Costs by 80%

MINISFORUM and AMD unveil the AI Mini Workstation MS-S1 MAX, slashing costs by 80% while boosting performance for AI applications.

BEIJING, Dec. 22, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — In a significant move to revolutionize intelligent computing, MINISFORUM and AMD jointly announced the launch of their flagship AI computing products at the “Leading Intelligent Computing, Renewing the Core for the Future” event held in Beijing on December 10. The event showcased the AI Mini Workstation MS-S1 MAX and the AI NAS N5 Pro, addressing their potential impact on both enterprise and personal applications of AI technology.

Attendees were offered live demonstrations and hands-on experiences, illustrating how the collaboration between MINISFORUM and AMD is setting new benchmarks in performance, efficiency, and versatility in AI applications. “Our vision at MINISFORUM is to accelerate the transformation of intelligent computing for everyone,” said Roy Jiang, Chairman of MINISFORUM. “Partnering with AMD enables us to leverage world-class AI processors, empowering users to reach new levels of productivity and creativity.” The event highlighted the ongoing evolution of global AI trends and how they drive product innovation.

“The cooperation between AMD and MINISFORUM fully demonstrates how AMD’s technologies empower endpoint and edge AI,” said Jovi Chi, Senior Director of Marketing at AMD. The products featured at the event are powered by AMD’s Ryzen™ AI Max and Ryzen™ AI series processors, providing advanced capabilities and supporting multi-scenario applications across various industries.

The MS-S1 MAX, a compact AI mini workstation, is built with the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ 395 CPU, which boasts 16 cores and 32 threads, alongside the Radeon™ 8060S GPU. This high-performance setup supports up to 128GB LPDDR5x-8000MT/s quad-channel unified memory and incorporates advanced connections such as USB4 V2, dual 10GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. The MS-S1 MAX can run large AI models, including Llama 109B and DeepSeek-R1 70B, and can be clustered to handle even larger models like the DEEPSEEK 671B Q4 LLM.

In concrete terms, a four-node cluster of the MS-S1 MAX is reported to consume about 50% less volume and 80% lower power compared to traditional 5U RTX 5090 servers while delivering up to 77% cost savings during large-model inferences. Each node operates at only 180W under full load, making the entire cluster significantly more energy-efficient, consuming just 0.72 KW compared to the 4-5 KW typical of larger servers.

The AI Mini Workstation is currently available on MINISFORUM’s official shop, with a promotional price of $2,639.90 during the Christmas sale.

In addition to the MS-S1 MAX, MINISFORUM introduced the N5 Pro, claiming it to be the first NAS capable of achieving AI PC operations. The device is powered by an AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX PRO 370 processor, featuring 12 cores and a clock speed of up to 5.1GHz, alongside offering 80 TOPS of neural processing power. The N5 Pro supports a substantial 144TB of hybrid storage and up to 96GB of DDR5 ECC RAM.

This NAS focuses on ensuring data privacy while providing advanced AI capabilities, running on the MinisCloud OS for local LLM deployment and facilitating various AI-driven tasks. These include serving as an intelligent photo library, secure media center, work vault, and smart home data solutions. The AI NAS N5 Pro is also available on the MINISFORUM shop, currently on sale for $1,019.

Both MINISFORUM and AMD are committed to advancing the future of intelligent computing through their collaborative efforts, integrating AI capabilities into compact devices that enhance performance, security, and adaptability. This partnership underscores their dedication to shaping the next generation of AI solutions for enterprise and personal users alike.

Founded in 2018, MINISFORUM has established itself as a leader in applying AI research to PC design and manufacturing, offering high-performance solutions across various categories, including AI Mini PCs and NAS devices. With over 4 million users in nearly 100 countries, MINISFORUM continues to innovate in the computing landscape, promising to bring technology into everyday life.
