Schoser Talent Launches Free AI Education App to Bridge Digital Literacy Gap in Rural Areas

Schoser Talent unveils Learning AI with Gretchen, a free app designed to enhance digital literacy in rural areas, tackling the widening AI education gap.

Groton, NY, Jan. 16, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Schoser Talent and Wellness Solutions, a workplace wellness and leadership consulting firm, has unveiled Learning AI with Gretchen, a free app aimed at enhancing digital literacy in rural and underserved communities. Created by founder Gretchen Schoser, a technology veteran with over 45 years of experience, the application addresses the growing need for accessible AI education among individuals often left behind in today’s digital landscape.

The app comes in response to a significant digital literacy gap as artificial intelligence increasingly permeates workplaces and daily life, yet remains out of reach for many, particularly in low-income or rural areas. “After more than four decades in technology, I’ve watched the same pattern repeat itself every time something ‘revolutionary’ arrives. The people who need it most get left behind,” Schoser stated. “I built this app because no one should be left behind, especially now.”

This initiative was inspired by Schoser’s experiences teaching free AI classes at her local library in Groton. Observing that residents often lacked the means for professional development and that AI education was not being provided locally, she recognized that curiosity about technology was prevalent even when resources were not. “Where I live, people don’t have extra money for training. AI education isn’t offered here. Resources are stretched thin. But curiosity? That’s everywhere,” she explained. The popularity of her initial library classes confirmed that the need for AI education extends far beyond her community.

Learning AI with Gretchen is designed for individuals who may feel intimidated or confused by technology, featuring beginner-friendly content that avoids technical jargon. The app places a strong emphasis on safety and trust, offering clear and straightforward explanations, and prioritizing user experience over speed and complexity. “Most AI tools assume you already know the language, the rules, and the ‘right’ way to ask questions. If you don’t, you’re left feeling behind, or worse, unsafe,” Schoser added. “This app exists to say you’re not behind, you’re not stupid, you’re right on time.”

Both the app and Schoser’s AI classes remain free to encourage broad participation, regardless of income, age, or geographic location. “The goal isn’t profit. The goal is access,” she stated. As the initiative expands, Schoser plans to seek sponsorships from organizations that share her vision of making AI education accessible as a community investment rather than a charitable endeavor. To further this goal, the program now offers virtual beginner AI classes, allowing libraries and community groups to access these resources without financial barriers.

Schoser’s background as a mental health advocate informs her approach to technology education. She acknowledges that feelings of inadequacy related to technology can lead to anxiety and shame, and she aims to foster a safe learning environment. “Technology should work for people, not intimidate them,” she said. “This app encourages curiosity, normalizes questions, and removes the shame so many people feel when they think they’re ‘late to the party.’

Founded by Gretchen Schoser, Schoser Talent and Wellness Solutions focuses on workplace wellness and mental health advocacy for small and midsize businesses. The firm is committed to ensuring that technology serves people, emphasizing the importance of inclusivity in the digital age. With the launch of Learning AI with Gretchen, the company seeks to bridge the digital divide and empower individuals in rural and underserved areas to fully engage with the evolving technological landscape.

As AI continues to reshape various sectors, initiatives like Schoser’s highlight the critical importance of equitable access to education and resources, ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to participate in an increasingly digital world.
