India AI Impact Summit 2026: $70B Investments, 840 Exhibitors, 500 Global Events Set to Transform AI Landscape

India AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi will unveil over 200 AI models and showcase solutions from 840 exhibitors, fueled by nearly $70B in investments.

The India AI Impact Summit 2026, organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), is set to take place from February 16 to 20 in New Delhi. The event has already garnered significant international interest, with Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw highlighting its potential to be the largest AI summit globally at a press conference on January 30, 2026.

Mr. Vaishnaw noted that recent discussions between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and industry leaders, developers, and innovators have underscored the systematic advancement of India’s AI ecosystem. The focus remains on deployment-led solutions, reflecting a commitment to harnessing the power of artificial intelligence across various sectors.

During the summit, over 200 sector-specific AI models, developed by leading IT companies, are expected to be launched. Investments in AI infrastructure currently stand at nearly $70 billion and could potentially double by the event’s conclusion. The Minister also emphasized an initiative to enhance AI talent development by expanding infrastructure and introducing industry-validated curricula across 500 universities.

In response to questions about energy needs for AI, Mr. Vaishnaw pointed out that nuclear power would be a vital component, given the energy demands of AI technologies. He stated, “On the energy layer, our robust grid is being recognized by the world today,” adding that half of India’s energy generation capacity now comes from green power.

At the conference, a compendium titled ‘The Impact Agenda: Leadership Reflections’ was launched, featuring insights from approximately 60 leading industry experts on the future role of AI in fostering inclusive growth and innovation.

The summit will host around 500 curated events at key venues including Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan. The AI Impact Expo is anticipated to attract over 840 exhibitors, including country pavilions and representatives from state governments, industries, startups, and research institutions, showcasing AI solutions with proven real-world impact.

Notable attendees already confirmed include 15 Heads of State Government, more than 40 Ministers, over 100 leading CEOs and CXOs, and more than 100 eminent academics. Key industry partners such as Jio, Qualcomm, OpenAI, Nvidia, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, and the Gates Foundation are also expected to participate in the summit.

The overarching goal of the summit is to promote the democratization of technology, specifically AI, ensuring its benefits reach a broad spectrum of society. S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, emphasized this commitment to inclusivity in technological advancements.

As the event approaches, it is poised not only to showcase advancements in AI but also to foster collaborations that could drive technological innovations aimed at solving pressing global challenges. The India AI Impact Summit 2026 could serve as a turning point in recognizing India’s role as a global leader in AI development.
