New Delhi, Feb 13: India is set to host the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from February 16 to 20, uniting world leaders, policymakers, and technology experts to explore the future of artificial intelligence (AI). The summit is founded on three guiding principles: People, Planet, and Progress, which articulate India’s commitment to international collaboration in the AI sector. It aims to promote discussions surrounding responsible innovation, inclusive growth, and sustainable technological advancements.
At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, various heads of state and government are expected to attend, including Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay of Bhutan; Vice President Edmand Lara Montano of Bolivia; President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva of Brazil; Prime Minister Andrej Plenković of Croatia; President Alar Karis of Estonia; Prime Minister Petteri Orpo of Finland; and President Emmanuel Macron of France.
The roster of attending leaders also features Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis of Greece; Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo of Guyana; Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov of Kazakhstan; Hereditary Prince Alois of Liechtenstein; Prime Minister Navinchandra Ramgoolam of Mauritius; President Aleksandar Vučić of Serbia; President Peter Pellegrini of Slovakia; and Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez of Spain.
Further expanding the global representation, attendees will include President Anura Kumara Dissanayake of Sri Lanka; Vice President Sebastien Pillay of Seychelles; President Guy Parmelin of Switzerland; Prime Minister Dick Schoof of the Netherlands; and Crown Prince Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates. In total, ministerial delegations from over 45 countries are anticipated to participate, alongside senior officials from numerous international organizations, including the United Nations.
The summit is poised to be a pivotal platform for enhancing global cooperation in artificial intelligence, while also solidifying India’s rising leadership role in the field. With more than 35,000 participants already registered, representation is expected from over 100 countries, along with participation from more than 500 startups. The agenda will feature over 500 sessions, complemented by an AI Impact Expo showcasing more than 300 exhibitors from approximately 30 countries, organized within multiple thematic pavilions.
Leading up to the event, Indian missions and diplomatic posts have initiated over 80 outreach events worldwide, further amplifying the summit’s international engagement. The focus on collaboration stems from a recognition of the critical role AI is expected to play in driving economic growth, innovation, and societal transformation across nations.
As the summit approaches, discussions are anticipated to delve into the ethical considerations surrounding AI, emphasizing the importance of developing technologies that not only advance economic objectives but also contribute positively to societal well-being and environmental sustainability. With significant representation from both government and private sectors, the summit aims to catalyze initiatives that ensure AI serves as a tool for progress and inclusive development.
The India–AI Impact Summit 2026 stands to not only shape the discourse around artificial intelligence but also to reinforce India’s commitment to fostering a collaborative and responsible AI landscape on a global scale.
