Global Leaders Unite at AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi to Drive Ethical AI Scale-up

Global leaders, including Accenture’s Julie Sweet and Amazon’s David Zapolsky, convene at India’s AI Impact Summit 2026 to drive AI’s $17 billion potential by 2027.

AI-Impact Summit 2026: The tech world converges in New Delhi on Monday for the AI-India Impact Summit 2026, bringing together representatives from over 20 countries. This week-long summit underscores India’s pivotal role in global AI governance and showcases its commitment to deploying AI for measurable benefits to its citizens, a fact recognized by leaders in the technology sector.

Julie Sweet, Chair and CEO of Accenture, emphasized the summit’s timely occurrence, stating that the Global South is increasingly influential in shaping the future of AI. “I’m looking forward to joining leaders from around the world at the India AI Summit, especially at this time when the global south has such an important role to play in shaping AI’s future,” she noted in a video shared by the Indian Embassy in the US. Sweet highlighted the need for bold leadership and deep collaboration to ensure AI adoption benefits everyone.

One of the central themes of this summit is the democratisation of AI resources, aimed at promoting equitable access to foundational AI technologies for inclusive innovation and sustainable development. Cristiano Amon, President and CEO of Qualcomm, stated that democratizing access to AI is vital for its future growth. “India isn’t just participating in the global AI conversation. It’s helping shape what comes next,” he remarked, underlining AI’s integration into everyday life across various devices and sectors.

As the summit unfolds, another key focus is leveraging AI for economic development and social good. David Zapolsky, Chief Global Affairs and Legal Officer at Amazon, articulated that technology’s promise is realized when it addresses real-world problems. “Since 2010, Amazon has invested $40 billion in India, supporting 2.8 million jobs and enabling $20 billion in exports,” he stated, adding that the company plans to invest an additional $35 billion by 2030 to bolster India’s potential as a global innovation hub.

Zapolsky further emphasized that AI’s true measure of success lies in the opportunities created and inequalities reduced. He noted that impactful innovation occurs when governments and industry collaborate to ensure AI serves everyone. India’s approach focuses on practical deployment across sectors to improve public services and everyday life.

Giordano Albertazzi, CEO of Vertiv, remarked on India’s rapid AI adoption, stating, “The world is watching.” He mentioned that Vertiv is increasing its engineering and manufacturing investments in India, developing technologies for gigawatt-scale AI factories. Albertazzi expressed anticipation for discussions at the summit about the infrastructure and energy efficiency needed to support the next wave of AI growth.

According to a report by the Boston Consulting Group, India is one of the fastest-growing AI markets globally, projected to exceed $17 billion by 2027. This growth is underpinned by government support, a robust digital infrastructure, and a strong STEM education policy. With around 800 million internet users and progressive policies, India stands poised to leverage AI for inclusive growth.

As the summit progresses, the discussions are expected to emphasize the significance of AI not only as a technological advancement but as a catalyst for economic and social transformation. The convergence of leaders at the AI-India Impact Summit 2026 reflects a broader recognition that AI’s future will depend significantly on how well it is integrated into the fabric of societies worldwide, ensuring that its benefits reach far and wide.
