Aston Martin F1 Team Partners with Cohere to Integrate Generative AI for Enhanced Performance

Aston Martin F1 partners with Cohere to leverage generative AI, enhancing data analysis and operational efficiency for competitive gains on the track.

The Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team has forged a multi-year partnership with enterprise artificial intelligence company Cohere, designating it as its generative AI partner. This collaboration aims to integrate Cohere’s advanced AI technologies across the team’s engineering, performance, and operational workflows, enhancing data analysis and decision-making during both operations at Aston Martin’s Silverstone headquarters and on-site during race weekends.

As part of the agreement, Aston Martin Aramco staff will utilize North, Cohere’s flagship agentic AI platform. This platform fuses generative and search-based AI capabilities, allowing teams to securely analyze proprietary data, expedite insight generation, and streamline internal processes throughout the organization.

Jefferson Slack, Managing Director of Commercial and Marketing for the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One Team, emphasized that the partnership underscores a mutual dedication to precision, speed, and continual improvement. “These values define both cutting-edge AI development and elite motorsport, and we look forward to exploring how we can work together to maximize performance gains across our business in the coming years,” he stated.

Francois Chadwick, Chief Financial Officer of Cohere, noted that Formula One represents one of the most demanding data environments globally. He expressed enthusiasm about collaborating with the Aston Martin team to push the boundaries of enterprise AI in extreme performance conditions.

In the high-stakes world of Formula 1, teams generate enormous volumes of data during car development, simulation, and race operations. By integrating large language models and AI-driven tools into crucial workflows, Aston Martin Aramco aims to bolster operational efficiency and uncover new performance insights that could translate to competitive advantages on the track.

Cohere’s branding will feature on the side of the chassis and on the front wing mirror arms of the AMR26 race car, debuting at the season-opening Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in Melbourne. This visible partnership marks a significant step in enhancing the team’s technological capabilities, aligning with its commitment to innovation.

The agreement further reinforces Aston Martin Aramco’s expanding portfolio of technology and innovation partners. This includes collaborations with notable companies such as Breitling, TikTok LIVE, CELSIUS, Honda, Nexo, and JCB, as the team continues to invest in advanced infrastructure and data-driven tools aimed at achieving long-term success in Formula One.

As the motorsport landscape evolves, the integration of generative AI into racing operations reflects a broader trend of technology adoption within the industry. Teams are increasingly harnessing data analytics and AI to improve their competitive edge, responding to the growing complexities of modern racing. Aston Martin’s partnership with Cohere is a clear indication of this shift, positioning the team to not only enhance its performance on the track but also to set a precedent for the future of technology in motorsports.
