The Foundation for American Innovation (FAI) is actively seeking a Research Fellow to explore the intersection of cybersecurity and artificial intelligence policy. Reporting to the Director of Artificial Intelligence Policy, the Research Fellow will be responsible for original research, policy commentary, and organizing events aimed at engaging a diverse set of stakeholders—from policymakers to the general public. The fellow will play a crucial role in advancing discussions on media and technology, focusing specifically on the evolving landscape of AI and cybersecurity.
The responsibilities of the fellow include leading independent research initiatives, fostering collaboration among various stakeholders, and supporting programming for FAI fellowships and events. This encompasses everything from speaking on panels and curating expert speakers to teaching sessions that facilitate knowledge sharing. The role may also require periodic travel to major U.S. tech hubs to participate in FAI events.
Candidates may choose to specialize in various facets of cybersecurity and AI policy. Key areas of focus include securing critical infrastructure against cyber threats, promoting government AI adoption for national security, and protecting both commercial and government AI innovations through improved security measures.
