Authentise has launched Whisper, a new AI platform designed to capture, understand, and act on engineering intent across the entire idea-to-part lifecycle. By integrating seamlessly with tools such as Slack, email, meetings, and enterprise systems, Whisper captures engineering activity in real time, structures the data, and applies context and permissions, acting directly within existing workflows.
The company asserts that Whisper enhances operational efficiency by enabling earlier risk detection, integrating real-time compliance checks, and automating updates across ERP, PLM, and QMS systems. It presents a comprehensive provenance and audit trail linked to parts and projects, thereby optimizing the engineering process.
Positioned as an “agentic AI backbone,” Whisper connects fragmented engineering knowledge, transforming it into actionable insights within existing enterprise systems. This integration aims to ensure valuable knowledge no longer remains trapped in emails, meetings, or chat threads, allowing for continuous improvement.
“Engineering intent is the missing layer in digital transformation,” stated Authentise CEO Andre Wegner. “We’ve spent 14 years helping companies digitize workflows. Whisper is the next step. It doesn’t ask engineers to change how they work. It listens, understands, and acts.” While the long-term value lies in capturing engineering intent, immediate benefits include improvements in compliance, coordination, and execution.
Whisper is being released as a source-available platform, enabling customers to extend and deploy it within their own environments. Authentise has indicated that initial access will require “a low upfront commitment,” with full costs incurred only after the value has been demonstrated.
Early partners have highlighted several advantages of the platform, with Prototal—a serial production partner for injection molding and 3D printing—among the industry players shaping Whisper’s development. “As part of the steering committee, we pushed hard on one thing: this had to work in the real world, not just in theory,” said Rob Weighill, group systems architect at Prototal Group. “In a high-throughput environment, the challenge is keeping projects moving across teams. Seeing Whisper come together has been genuinely exciting because it doesn’t just surface insights; it takes action directly in the tools our teams already use.”
The introduction of Whisper comes at a time when businesses increasingly seek to leverage AI technologies to streamline operations and enhance decision-making processes. The potential for real-time insights and compliance checks could revolutionize how engineering teams operate, making them more agile and responsive to challenges as they arise.
As industries continue to embrace digital transformation, platforms like Whisper represent a significant advancement in aligning technology with practical, everyday applications. With its focus on capturing engineering intent and enabling action, Whisper may set a new standard for AI integration in engineering workflows, paving the way for more efficient and effective project execution.
