Durabook Launches R10 Rugged Tablet with Intel Core Ultra 200V and AI Capabilities

Durabook unveils the R10 rugged tablet with Intel’s Core Ultra 200V processor and AI capabilities, designed for 8.5 hours of reliable outdoor performance.

Durabook, a brand of Twinhead International Corporation, has launched the R10, a new rugged tablet designed to balance performance and durability. Unveiled on October 29, 2025, the R10 fills a significant gap in the 10-inch rugged tablet market, a popular segment for Windows tablets. The device not only meets the traditional ruggedness expectations but also incorporates modern artificial intelligence capabilities, functioning as a Microsoft-sanctioned Copilot+ PC, designed for secure on-device AI processing without cloud reliance.

The R10 represents a culmination of Durabook’s three decades of experience in producing rugged computing solutions, highlighting its commitment to delivering robust technology for demanding environments. This tablet features Intel’s “Lunar Lake” Core Ultra 200V processors, designed specifically for AI applications, alongside specifications that include at least 16GB of RAM and 256GB of fast storage. The R10’s design integrates a solid magnesium alloy chassis and an array of ports, catering to various professional demands.

Measuring 10.43 x 7.46 x 0.83 inches and weighing 2.65 pounds, the R10’s larger footprint accommodates a user-friendly design, featuring a wide bezel that provides grip while minimizing accidental touch inputs. The tablet offers ample connectivity options, including a Thunderbolt 4 port, USB Type-A, and RJ45 LAN jack, ensuring versatility in data transfer and peripheral connectivity. Such features make the R10 not only practical but also an appealing option for professionals who rely on reliable technology in the field.

One standout feature of the R10 is its display, which boasts a brightness of over 1,000 nits, making it suitable for outdoor use in various lighting conditions. The screen’s resolution, at 1920 x 1200 pixels, delivers sharp visuals that enhance usability for applications requiring precision. Durabook’s DynaVue technology further ensures that the screen remains readable in sunlight, a critical factor for field operations. The tablet supports multiple touch modes, enabling effective use with gloves or in wet conditions and provides an optional digitizer for stylus input.

In terms of ruggedness, the R10 meets stringent MIL-STD-810H standards for durability, capable of withstanding six-foot drops and exposure to harsh environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures from -20°F to 145°F. Its IP66 rating signifies complete protection against dust and powerful water jets, enhancing its reliability in challenging locations. Such features make the R10 a robust choice for sectors like public safety, logistics, and military applications.

Battery performance is another noteworthy aspect. The standard 50.2 watt-hour battery is rated for approximately 8.5 hours of operation, while an optional high-capacity battery can extend runtime to around 17 hours. This flexibility allows users to maintain productivity without the need for constant recharging, especially in field settings where downtime can be costly. In performance testing using PCMark 10, the R10 achieved just under eight hours of sustained use, demonstrating its efficiency in real-world scenarios.

The R10 is also equipped with an 11-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, both featuring physical shutters for enhanced privacy. While the camera quality does not rival high-end smartphones, it delivers satisfactory results for documentation and fieldwork, catering to professional needs without compromising security.

As the market continues to demand more versatile and capable devices, the Durabook R10 emerges as a strong contender in the rugged tablet landscape. Its combination of modern AI capabilities, robust construction, and user-friendly design positions it well for organizations seeking reliable technology for their field operations. By fusing cutting-edge AI with traditional ruggedness, the R10 not only meets current demands but also prepares users for the evolving landscape of mobile computing.
