SAP and Google Cloud Integrate AI Agents for Enhanced Marketing Automation and ROI

SAP and Google Cloud partner to integrate AI agents in marketing, enabling real-time strategies and reducing data fragmentation for over 50% of marketers.

SAP SE and Google Cloud have announced a partnership aimed at enhancing marketing capabilities through the integration of AI agents across their platforms. The collaboration will primarily focus on integrating SAP’s Engagement Cloud, Customer Experience (SAP CX), Joule solutions, and Google’s Gemini Enterprise, as stated in a joint announcement made today.

The partnership will enable joint customers to deploy AI agents that can securely access a unified data ecosystem, allowing for the execution of complex marketing strategies aligned with specific user-defined goals. This strategic collaboration aims to address the challenges faced by marketers in data fragmentation, which currently hampers the ability of over half of marketers to act in real-time.

According to the companies, Gemini Enterprise will act as a central hub for data integrations and multi-agent coordination. This setup will allow the AI agents to take measured actions across both SAP and Google Cloud solutions. The integration is backed by SAP’s Business Data Cloud Connect solution for Google and BigQuery, streamlining the data management process.

The ability of agents to securely exchange context and trigger actions across platforms will facilitate a more optimized marketing approach. “Capabilities across both Gemini Enterprise and agent gateway APIs from SAP will allow customers’ agents to more securely exchange context, trigger actions and optimize outcomes across platforms, enabling true multi-agent orchestration,” the companies said in their release.

This integration allows marketers to provide prompts to agents within SAP Engagement Cloud, giving clear objectives such as “Increase repeat purchases from the last 30 days” or “Maximize customer lifetime value while reducing campaign operational costs.” For instance, a Joule Agent will oversee the entire process, from content personalization to visualization and conversational engagement.

Balaji Balasubramanian, president and chief product officer at SAP Customer Experience and Consumer Industries, characterized the partnership with Google Cloud as a significant advancement for AI agents. “It’s a leap forward for AI agents that can collaborate naturally and execute seamlessly,” he remarked.

The integration promises to mitigate data fragmentation, allowing businesses to transition from campaign planning to activation without manual intervention. By utilizing Joule to unify outdated data streams, organizations can achieve quicker market readiness and reduced operational overhead through autonomous campaign generation and continuous optimization.

Balasubramanian emphasized the importance of easing the manual workload for marketers, stating, “By combining SAP Business Data Cloud Connect for Google with interoperable AI agents across SAP and Google Cloud, we’re giving organizations a path from AI experimentation to AI-enabled customer experience at scale.” He noted that this enhancement allows marketers to focus more on shaping the customer journey rather than being bogged down by administrative tasks.

Kevin Ichhpurani, president of global partner ecosystem at Google Cloud, underscored the significance of coherence between systems. “To realize the full potential of agentic AI, businesses need their systems to speak the same language,” he said. By linking SAP’s enterprise data and customer engagement platform with Google Cloud’s AI capabilities, the partnership aims to enable marketers to move beyond simple automation towards sophisticated multi-agent orchestration. This could facilitate the creation of dynamic campaigns that adapt to market shifts in real time.

This partnership between SAP and Google Cloud not only represents a significant integration of technologies but also highlights the growing trend of leveraging AI to enhance marketing efficiency. As organizations increasingly look to automate and optimize their marketing efforts, this collaboration may offer a blueprint for future advancements in the field.
