Huawei Launches AIEC Solution to Accelerate AI Education for 1 Million Students

Huawei launches AIEC Solution at MWC 2026 to democratize AI education for 1 million students, enhancing access and fostering technological innovation.

Barcelona, Spain (ANTARA/PRNewswire) – At the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Barcelona 2026, Huawei unveiled its “AIEC Solution for basic education” during a summit themed “Education + AI, Embracing an Intelligent Future.” This initiative is designed to accelerate the integration of general AI education into primary and secondary schooling, aligning with the company’s vision to foster a more knowledgeable and technologically adept future generation.

Li Junfeng, Vice President of Huawei and CEO of the Global Public Sector Business Unit, emphasized that the future of AI education should focus on “the lowest threshold and the widest coverage.” He described Huawei’s role as that of a “technology enabler” and “ecosystem builder,” collaborating with various partners to develop innovative, scenario-based solutions tailored for the education sector. The AIEC Solution aims to democratize access to AI education, opening up technological opportunities for students across a range of backgrounds.

The AIEC Solution is built on a robust foundation comprising hardware computing infrastructure, model services, application platforms, and an AI teaching and laboratory management system. This comprehensive approach aims to provide systematic general AI education, experimental applications, and curriculum resources for students of all ages in basic education. By equipping students with essential competencies, Huawei seeks to lay a firm groundwork for national technological innovation and industrial advancement.

Currently, the AIEC Solution has been implemented in Zhejiang Province, China, where Huawei, in collaboration with partners such as CourseGrading, has established a general AI education platform serving over 500 primary and secondary schools. This platform features AI computing power, open-source large models, and a multitude of hands-on AI practice projects and experimental tools. With ambitions to expand this initiative, the program is expected to reach one million students in the near future.

During the summit, Huawei also launched a global demonstration project in partnership with Pui Kiu Middle School, showcasing practical applications of artificial intelligence technology within the realm of secondary education. This initiative not only highlights innovative AI applications in education but also aims to develop replicable and scalable models for digital transformation worldwide.

Huawei’s AIEC Solution marks a pivotal moment in the convergence of education and artificial intelligence. As the company moves forward, it aims to act as a technological bridge, fostering an open ecosystem with global partners. By nurturing the potential within every child, Huawei aspires to co-create a future where educational equity and technological advancement progress in tandem.
