India to Host Landmark AI Impact Summit 2026, Featuring 100+ Countries and $70B in Investments

India’s AI Impact Summit 2026 will attract over 100 countries and unveil 200 AI models, amid $70B in investments, solidifying its global tech leadership.

India AI Impact Summit 2026: India is poised to host a landmark event with the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16 to 20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. This summit is expected to attract representatives from over 100 countries, including approximately 15 Heads of State and Government, more than 100 global CEOs, and numerous leaders from academia and technology. Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology, Ashwini Vaishnaw, emphasized that the summit signifies India’s rapid growth in the AI sector and its emerging role in global technology discussions.

Speaking at a press conference organized by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Vaishnaw highlighted that the summit is shaping up to be the largest AI gathering globally to date. He pointed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent engagements with international technology leaders and innovators as proof of India’s increasing influence in the AI landscape.

During the summit, more than 200 specialized AI models developed by Indian IT companies across sectors such as healthcare, agriculture, governance, and industry are set to be unveiled. The minister noted that nearly USD 70 billion in investments are already flowing into India’s AI infrastructure, with projections indicating this figure could double by the end of the summit week.

Vaishnaw also mentioned plans to enhance AI talent development, aiming to extend industry-designed AI curricula and infrastructure to 500 universities. This initiative is intended to fortify India’s long-term workforce pipeline in emerging technologies.

The India AI Impact Summit marks the fourth in a series of global AI summits, following previous editions held in the UK, South Korea, and France. The central aim of the summit is to democratize AI technologies, ensuring that their benefits reach a broader segment of society rather than being concentrated in a few advanced economies or corporations. Secretary of MeitY, S. Krishnan, noted that India seeks to align global standards and governance approaches with the needs of developing nations, promoting a safe, inclusive, and responsible adoption of AI technologies.

The summit will feature over 500 sessions, including leader-level conversations, policy roundtables, and sector-focused discussions, taking place across Bharat Mandapam and Sushma Swaraj Bhawan. A key highlight will be the AI Impact Expo, showcasing practical applications of artificial intelligence across various industries. More than 800 exhibitors, including country pavilions, startups, research institutions, and private companies, are expected to participate, with demonstrations of India’s own foundational AI initiatives under the IndiaAI mission.

Officials anticipate over 100,000 attendees during the summit week, potentially making it one of the largest technology events ever organized in India. Industry engagement is expected to be a significant strength of the summit, with participation from leading technology firms and global corporations. Senior leaders from sectors including AI, semiconductors, cloud computing, telecommunications, and enterprise technology are slated to attend. The event will also feature a diverse mix of voices, including prominent CEOs, founders, academic researchers, and policy experts who are deeply involved in the dialogue on responsible AI governance.

In terms of industry partnerships, the summit is likely to generate announcements focused on infrastructure expansion, startup collaborations, AI applications, and research cooperation. The outreach efforts leading up to the summit have included hundreds of pre-summit events, with over 460 conducted across various Indian states and internationally in around 30 countries. Regional conferences in states like Meghalaya, Gujarat, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Kerala have contributed to the national conversation by highlighting local AI use cases and governance discussions.

In the lead-up to the main event, a series of initiatives such as AI for All, AI by Her, and YUVAi are designed to encourage innovative ideas that address real social and economic issues while providing emerging talents a platform for visibility. The response has been robust, with thousands of entries received from across the globe. Experts believe these contributions could significantly influence policy and industry decisions in emerging markets in the coming years. Overall, the summit represents India’s commitment to ensuring that artificial intelligence remains safe, trusted, and inclusive while fostering economic growth and innovation.
