Telangana Signs MoU with Blaize to Boost AI Hardware R&D in Hyderabad

Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy signs MoU with Blaize to enhance AI hardware R&D in Hyderabad, targeting $3 trillion economic growth in 20 years.

Hyderabad: A delegation led by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Blaize, a California-based company specializing in energy-efficient AI hardware, at the 2026 World Economic Forum in Davos. The agreement aims to bolster the state’s technological landscape by supporting Blaize’s Research and Development centre in Hyderabad.

The “Telangana Rising” delegation, during its meeting with Blaize’s co-founder and CEO, Dinakar Munagala, emphasized a collaborative approach to enhance initiatives in electronics, semiconductors, and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Blaize is actively engaged in developing software for AI-driven data centres, making its partnership with Telangana particularly relevant.

Blaize has expanded its footprint in Asia, contributing to the development of smart cities and industrial solutions, and operates a dedicated R&D centre in Hyderabad. The discussions highlighted the potential for the state to assist in scaling this centre, reflecting Telangana’s commitment to positioning itself as a leader in AI and advanced technology.

Upon signing the MoU, Chief Minister Reddy remarked on Telangana’s vision to emerge as an AI data centre hub, which he believes is integral to the state’s goal of achieving USD 3 trillion in economic growth over the next two decades. “Our state is rapidly emerging as a progressive, technology-driven state, with high-impact initiatives across AI, data centres, quantum computing, hardware, and automation,” Reddy stated.

Contributing to this vision, Telangana’s IT Minister Sridhar Babu elaborated on the launch of the “Telangana AI Innovation Hub.” This strategic initiative is designed to serve as the state’s nerve centre for driving investments, research, and innovation, with the aim of establishing Hyderabad as a premier global destination for AI. Babu also highlighted the commitment to advancing AI engineering talent in support of the Blaize centre.

The meeting with Blaize also explored practical applications of AI, including piloting solutions for healthcare diagnostics, manufacturing automation, and energy efficiency. These discussions underscore a shared ambition to leverage AI technology across diverse sectors, enhancing both local and global industries.

As the demand for innovative technologies continues to grow, Telangana’s proactive approach to fostering partnerships and promoting R&D initiatives is likely to attract further investments. The collaboration with Blaize not only represents a significant step for the state but also highlights the broader trend of technology firms seeking to establish a presence in emerging markets. By aligning with global leaders in AI, Telangana is positioning itself at the forefront of a transformative era in technology.
