Andhra Pradesh Expands Land Allotment for Google AI Data Centers to 601 Acres

Andhra Pradesh boosts Raiden Infotech’s land allocation to 601 acres for AI data centers, planning ₹90,000 crore investment to enhance digital infrastructure.

The Andhra Pradesh government has approved an increase in land allocation for Raiden Infotech India Pvt Ltd, a Google subsidiary, from 480 acres to over 600 acres. This expansion aims to establish AI data centers valued at nearly ₹90,000 crore. The decision was announced on Wednesday by N Yuvaraj, Secretary of the IT, Electronics & Communications (ITEC) Department.

The Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) is responsible for the land allotment to Adani Infra (India) Ltd, the designated partner of Raiden Infotech. Yuvaraj confirmed the new total of 601.4 acres, detailing the revised distribution of land across several locations: 266.6 acres at Tarluvada, 160 acres at Adavivaram and Mudasarlova, and 175 acres at Rambilli in Visakhapatnam and Anakapalli districts.

The previous allocation comprised 160 acres at Rambilli, 200 acres at both Adavivaram and Mudasarlova, and 200 acres at Tarluvada, summing up to the original 480 acres. Raiden Infotech recently requested that all land allotments be assigned to Adani Infra (India) Ltd, which has submitted detailed project reports (DPRs) for the specified locations.

To enhance project execution and ensure compliance with local and state regulations, the company is in the process of establishing three special purpose vehicles (SPVs), all fully owned by it. These entities are: Vizag Hyperscale Data Center Park Limited for the Adavivaram and Mudasarlova lands, and Vizag Mega Data Center Park Limited for the Tarluvada lands, according to the government order.

Adani has requested APIIC to issue land allotment letters in the names of these SPVs, alongside applicable incentives, subsidies, and financial benefits. Raiden Infotech confirmed that Adani Infra and AdaniConneX are the authorized contacts for finalizing land transactions and overseeing the development of the advanced data center campuses, along with the necessary infrastructure.

The company has urged the ITEC Department to collaborate directly with Adani Infra and AdaniConneX to expedite the land allotment process. This initiative aligns with the growing demand for data center capacity, driven by the increasing adoption of AI technologies and cloud services across various sectors.

The strategic expansion in Andhra Pradesh signifies a broader trend toward enhancing digital infrastructure in India, which is critical for supporting burgeoning technologies such as artificial intelligence and machine learning. As more companies seek to optimize their data storage and processing capabilities, investments in data centers like those planned by Raiden Infotech will play a pivotal role in driving technological advancements and economic growth in the region.

With the approval of this land allotment, the Andhra Pradesh government reinforces its commitment to fostering a robust IT ecosystem, attracting significant investments, and positioning the state as a vital hub for technology and innovation in India.
