LG Unveils AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, Redefining In-Vehicle Experience with Generative AI

LG Electronics unveils its AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026, revolutionizing in-vehicle experiences with generative AI powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Cockpit Elite.

LG Electronics is poised to showcase its new AI Cabin Platform at CES 2026 in Las Vegas, scheduled for January 6-9. This innovative in-vehicle solution utilizes generative artificial intelligence (AI) and is powered by Qualcomm Technologies, Inc.‘s Snapdragon® Cockpit™ Elite platform. By integrating advanced AI models with high-performance computing (HPC), LG aims to redefine standards for the AI-defined vehicle era.

During a private showcase at CES, attendees will experience a digital cockpit featuring the AI Cabin Platform and get a first look at the AI-defined vehicle (AIDV), which represents a new mobility paradigm extending beyond the software-defined vehicle (SDV). LG’s AI Cabin Platform incorporates various generative AI models, including vision language models (VLMs), large language models (LLMs), and image generation models, into its in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) system, thereby paving the way for a more intelligent and context-aware driving experience.

All AI computations will be processed within the vehicle itself, thanks to the capabilities of the Snapdragon Cockpit Elite. This on-device processing enhances real-time operation while improving privacy and data security by reducing reliance on external cloud services. The AI Cabin Platform can analyze the driving environment and the driver’s condition by utilizing data from internal and external cameras, thus providing real-time personalized assistance. For instance, if a vehicle begins to merge into the driver’s lane without prior notice, the system is capable of sending a tailored alert: “A car is merging ahead. Please keep your eyes on the road and drive safely.”

Moreover, the platform is designed to generate customized infotainment user interfaces that adapt to the external environment. For example, if a driver is listening to music on a snowy evening, the system can create a corresponding background for the music playback screen, displaying snow falling between streetlights. Additionally, it may offer context-aware suggestions such as, “It’s a beautiful snowy night. Shall I recommend some winter-themed songs?”

Earlier this year at CES 2025, LG and Qualcomm highlighted their collaboration with the introduction of a HPC platform that integrates IVI and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) into a unified control unit. This solution, based on Qualcomm Technologies’ Snapdragon Ride™ Flex System-on-Chip (SoC), has been recognized for achieving both cost efficiency and superior performance by consolidating various vehicle functions into a single controller.

“Based on our proven technology and global trust, we will continue expanding partnerships with innovators like Qualcomm Technologies to drive future mobility beyond the SDV to the AIDV,” said Eun Seok-hyun, president of the LG Vehicle Solution Company. “With the AI Cabin Platform, we are creating mobility that not only understands drivers but also responds proactively to their needs and preferences, making every journey uniquely personal.”

The LG Vehicle Solution Company aims to bring human-centered innovations to the automotive sector. As a trusted partner, the company provides a range of intelligent solutions, including head units, displays, connectivity, ADAS vision systems, and software for software-defined vehicles. Committed to “Driving Better Future Mobility,” LG has diversified its portfolio to encompass automotive lighting systems, e-powertrain technology, and cybersecurity solutions. This latest development from LG highlights a significant trend in the automotive industry toward integrating generative AI technologies, which promise to enhance the driving experience by making vehicles more responsive and personalized. As the technology matures, it is likely to set new benchmarks for the future of mobility.
