MINIX Launches T4000 and T5000 AI Workstations with Up to 2070 TFLOPs Performance

MINIX unveils T4000 and T5000 AI workstations delivering up to 2070 TFLOPs for efficient local processing of large language models and content creation.

MINIX has launched two new compact systems, the T4000 and T5000 Generative AI Mini Workstation, designed for professionals engaged in generative AI tasks, including local large language model inference and enterprise-grade on-premise deployments. These workstations aim to facilitate content creation and lightweight model training while minimizing desktop space requirements.

Utilizing NVIDIA Jetson AGX Thor modules and the latest Blackwell architecture, the T4000 achieves up to 1200 Sparse FP4 TFLOPs of AI performance, whereas the T5000 enhances that to 2070 TFLOPs. Both systems are equipped with a range of GPU cores, from 1536 to 2560, and advanced fifth-generation Tensor Cores. Their Multi-Instance GPU capabilities allow for efficient handling of parallel workloads, complemented by a dedicated PVA 3.0 vision processing engine. This robust hardware enables efficient local inference for large language models, effectively supporting parameter sizes from 7 billion to 70 billion, which is crucial for businesses and content creators seeking low-latency, private AI processing.

To address the demanding computational needs, the T4000 features a 12-core Arm-based CPU, while the T5000 is upgraded to a 14-core configuration. Both systems support up to 128 GB of LPDDR5X memory, running at 4266 MHz and offering bandwidth of up to 273 GB/s. This ensures ample capacity for multi-modal AI tasks and concurrent processing without bottlenecks.

The workstations also come with a comprehensive connectivity suite, including dual 10GbE Ethernet ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, dual HDMI 2.1 outputs for 4K displays, and a variety of USB 3.2 ports. This flexibility makes them well-suited for various professional workflows. Compact in design, measuring just 139.3 × 131 × 76.8 mm and weighing 1.42 kg, the systems integrate a 1 TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD with upgrade options available up to 4 TB. A durable chassis and sophisticated twin turbo intercooler system maintain high-load performance without thermal throttling, ensuring a practical plug-and-play experience.

On the software side, the T4000 and T5000 ship with Ubuntu 24.04 LTS pre-installed, alongside NVIDIA JetPack 7.1. This setup guarantees full compatibility with key frameworks like CUDA, TensorRT, and NIM, supporting containerized AI workflows. Emphasizing security, these systems enable fully local processing, reducing reliance on cloud systems. Industrial-grade reliability is further ensured through features like a programmable watchdog system and ESD protection, with capability to withstand a wide range of environmental conditions.
