The company has outlined plans to expand its presence to more than 100 cities across India and onboard over one million businesses within the next five years, positioning the country as a central pillar in its broader global growth strategy. In an official statement, BusinessBay.io stated that it aims to achieve revenues in the range of USD 25 million to USD 50 million and onboard one million businesses globally over the next five years. It further emphasized that India would serve as its primary growth engine, with planned investments of up to USD 1 million and a target of onboarding more than one million businesses in the country over the same period.

This development reflects a broader shift within the SMB ecosystem, where businesses are increasingly moving away from fragmented digital tools towards unified platforms that integrate customer engagement, payments, operations, and digital identity management. Industry adoption of AI-powered solutions, such as chatbots, CRM and ERP integrations, and no-code platforms, is also accelerating, enabling small businesses to streamline operations. This trend is being supported by mobile-first and messaging-led onboarding systems, including solutions built around widely used platforms such as WhatsApp.

Akram, a representative of BusinessBay.io, stated that the company’s vision is to become the default business identity and AI operating system for SMBs globally, adding that India remains central to this strategy, supported by low-friction onboarding via messaging platforms and an integrated ecosystem designed to address fragmentation and enable efficient scaling.

The segment is also witnessing increasing enterprise interest, with platforms reporting traction among larger clients alongside SMB adoption, contributing to improved user retention and engagement.
