The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has established a technology and policy panel aimed at shaping India’s governance framework for artificial intelligence (AI). This initiative seeks to create a structured, multi-stakeholder approach to regulating emerging AI technologies, balancing innovation with risk management.
This newly formed panel will serve as an advisory body, providing recommendations on the regulatory, technological, and ethical aspects of AI deployment. This effort is complemented by the establishment of dedicated bodies such as an AI Governance Group and expert committees under the IndiaAI Mission.
